Hi Emoji Bookers,

Unfortunately, Emoji Book did not meet it's funding goal on Kickstarter. Thank you all so much for your support! It was so heartwarming seeing family, friends and emoji fans around the world come together to support the project.

This isn't the end of Emoji Book! We're currently considering different options to make EB a reality - another campaign, with a publishing house, self-published etc..

"Summer was coming but unfortunately in London the sun is kind of shy, so the best way to cheer me up was to pick the smiling face with sunglasses emoji! The main message behind my interpretation is to say "Put down your fucking phone and enjoy summer!". To have a playful render, I decided to do everything in 3D using Cinema 4D with some final adjustments in Photoshop."

Mirjam Plettinx is an animator / illustrator, based in Antwerp, Belgium.

"I chose the hear-no-evil-monkey emoji because I was fascinated by its origin and various meanings, and also because monkeys are fun to draw! Since the monkey originates from a Japanese proverb, I decided to put him in a Japanese setting: a subway train in Tokyo. Instead of covering his ears with his hands, he uses headphones to block out the noise from his surroundings. And putting him in a crowded environment allowed me to sneak the two other wise monkeys into the illustration. Created in Photoshop."

"Words just can’t express pure joy as well as the heart eyes emoji can. This rendition is made out of various hand-painted candy that I arranged on a scanner to capture the sweetness of my favorite emoji."

Hi Emoji Book friends! 

Danni & Charlie here, writing to say a BIG thank you!! We’re sending good vibes and hugs to each and every one of you!

In five days we’ve hit over 25% of our target, raising $10k of our $40k goal. We’re also super excited about Kickstarter selecting Emoji Book as a “project we love”!

You’ve all helped us get here and we can’t wait to see what will happen next. 

Since we hit publish on the project, it’s been a lot of excitement and nerves! 

Some of the thoughts going through our heads:

• We finally got here after more than 8 months of planning!
• Eeeeeep …. will people understand the project?
• Could our campaign page be better?
• What if no-one picks this up?
• Woow, someone we don’t know backed us!!
• Wooow so many new artists wanting to be involved!!!
• Woooow we still need to raise $30K more!!!!

To our 98 backers so far, thanks for moving this project forward, supporting all these incredible artists, and warming our hearts with the chance to get a fun idea off the ground! Another huge thanks to everyone who has been sharing, tweeting and talking about the project online and in person. We appreciate your support so much. 

We haven’t hit the goal yet but we’ll keep pushing for this project, for our artists, and for emojis!
