About this project
Welcome Jeffrey, Welcome
If I could paint a painting, this would be my self-portrait of my twenty-one year old self. When I started writing Welcome Jeffrey, Welcome, I wanted to explore a writer's relationship to an idea. I wanted to explore how much the creator can fall in love with his creation. So much so that when the idea is rejected, the person falls to the deepest point of despair and the future becomes murky. I, myself, fall into periods like this. There are points where I can write and churn something out really quickly and I feel like I'm on cloud nine for days after. But when I hit a snag and my idea is rejected or my idea never fleshes itself out on paper, I hit these lowpoints. I get to points where I feel that writing is all I had and I can't even do that. It's this rollar coaster of emotions that has me so passionate about storytelling and filmmaking. The lowpoints make the high points all the better and the high points keep me writing and pursuing my passions.
Welcome Jeffrey, Welcome, is an exploration of a writer at his low point. A point where he has just been rejected and he has only his failure to keep him company. I want this film to capture these periods that I feel everyone goes through, not just storytellers, but everyone who has an idea.
The synopsis of Welcome Jeffrey, Welcome is a recently rejected writer has his work interrupted by an old high school sweetheart he hasn't seen in years.
I'd like to thank and invite you to kickstarting Welcome Jeffrey, Welcome. I am truly excited to see this project finally taking off and I can't wait to have a final product to show to the world.
