If we take a deep look at it, the classic white cotton shirt hasn’t evolved that much since the beginning of the 20th century. And yet, our lifestyles have changed, technology has improved. Unlike watches, glasses, the most low-tech of all “wearables” is the one we wear the most. We believe innovation should change your everyday life.
Le Lab is a new French elegant apparel brand with the ambition to revolutionize men’s clothing using innovative fabrics, starting with the classic white cotton shirt.
We combined what we believe is the best of style, cut and fabric:
Our first collection was built seeking harmony between pure white fabric and rough dark metal.
Our stylists first looked for inspiration and then started drawing.
Once the models of the first collection were designed, we prototyped them.
You can discover our first collection in this "behind the scenes" video of our photoshoot:
Among these models, the one we offer as a reward is the "Essential" shirt:
We collaborated with one of the most renowned French tailor to find the perfect fitted cut.
We also included luxury details
We settled our offices at the European Center of Innovative Textiles in Lille, France, to develop a unique cotton fabric, inspired by the latest sportswear, medical and military technological advances in innovative fabrics.
After nearly 2 years of R&D, we are now able to produce a fabric which is
Today, we are the only company in the world to combine all 3 properties.
Every time the fabric changes, the technology also changes. With the delicate and thin fabric of a cotton shirt, 3 challenges needed to be answered
We also offer self-cleaning silk ties in our first collection.
The "self-cleaning" technology on silk ties already existed - as a matter of fact it's easier as you don't wash them. We worked on style and high quality. And who wants to stain its tie when he cannot stain his shirt?
These shirts have been almost 2 years in the making! They have already been fully developed, prototyped and tested by textile and fashion professionals. We now need backers' funds to launch the first batch:
This is how your money will be spent:
By Sébastien François, CEO
After studying at HEC Paris and MIT Sloan, I became a consultant, like many of my classmates. I had to wear a tuxedo on a daily basis and even if I like to be classy, maintaining that look was often adding to an already stressful life.
I looked for innovative clothes that could also fit my fashion and quality requirements, but found nothing adequate (sorry for past Kickstarter projects – I will be glad to explain you what didn’t suit me and how different Le Lab is). I’m convinced I’m not the only one in this situation and if it’s your case, this is your chance to solve it.
Pauline Guesné, graduated from EM Lyon and also former consultant became my business partner soon after. She brought her skills and the feminine perspective needed to go even further in style. I cannot emphasis enough how crucial she is in our organization.
If you support us, you will be invited to choose one of the following rewards:
Please note that your size and your choice of model will be asked to you when the crowdfunding ends. Here are the available sizes:
We had 5 sizes previously but we increased it to 7 (adding XS and XXXL) because we reached our first stretch goal of €20,000.
Regarding shirts, only the "Essential" model is available. For ties, you will be able to choose between black, silver and blue.
Risks and challenges
With our shirts being so unique, we had to find suppliers able to master our technology and to meet our quality requirements. In order to find them, we literally searched the world. The final manufacturing process is carried out in 3 steps
1. We buy high quality cotton yarn and make them woven.
2. Our finishing experts process and dye them.
3. The clothes are made in highly qualified European fashion studios for perfect finishes.
Our relationship with our partners is built on trust, reliability and a shared commitment to excellence. We are confident we will succeed in fulfilling every order perfectly. However, the unexpected is unpredictable (!) and given our complex fabrication process, an unfortunate event could always delay the production process.
To prevent this from happening we already took precautions in the delivery date we announced you. And no matter what, we will be in contact with you at every step of the way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
