Calling all Localvores, Ominvores, and Foodivores.... (that's you, I promise)
Heidi Ho Organics is a new plant-based vegan foodie adventure established in 2010 and headquartered in Portland, Oregon. We have created a range of plant-based vegan cheeze products that are made from all natural, organic ingredients without any additives, fillers or preservatives. Our initial line of cheeze includes four varieties, including a soy-based Feta and hazelnut-based Chipotle Cheddar, Smoked Gouda, and Monterey Jack. In the spirit of creating a vegan company that was both local and sustainable, I was drawn to the flavorful and delicate hazelnut. I use hazelnuts in the majority of our products. We make about a dozen different varieties of cheezes from Bleu to Colby to Ricotta; our assortment of products can replace any dairy cheese in recipes and it is the more health and earth conscious choice.
Right now we produce our cheezes two pounds at a time with a home food processor!
It is impossible for us to expand until we upgrade our equipment. With a successful kickstarter campaign, we would use the money to purchase a seven quart blixer by robot coupe to process our cheezes. We would also purchase a vacuum sealing machine. We would print attractive labels for the product as oppose to name labels from the local office supply store. It would make it possible for us to take our very well received cheezes to the next level and get them to co-ops from here to Timbuktu!
We are also in the development stages on a few different creamy sauces, spreads, and dips. We decided to launch our product line with these four cheezes and over time, as our company grows, we will introduce new products to the market. Ultimately, our goal is to stimulate local economies around the globe by building small sub-production facilities that source their ingredients locally and only distribute within a local radius. The macadamia nut is to Hawaii what the hazelnut is to us here in Oregon.
