A human-powered, flame throwing, goat roasting, van dragging, metal forging, jam producing spectacle for the Mayday parade. Southside!
Each year South Minneapolis gathers to celebrate the coming of Spring with a parade and festival in Powderhorn Park.
We are a group of bicycle and car mechanics, artists, and community workers who collaborate every May on an unofficial submission to the parade in the form of a caravan of bicycle-powered, fire-breathing contraptions from which we provide drum music, custom forged metal objects, and freshly roasted goat tacos for the people! Help us out. You can check out 2011's project in action here:
That's the Pedal Cloud 10 person bicycle, a trailer with blacksmithing forge, the six-person bike-powered ice shanty with five drummers on top, bicycle powered spit with two whole goats roasting which we distributed for free at the festival site and some dude on a wheeled toboggan bringing up the rear?
Please help us buy a couple goats to cook and make into tacos for everyone, some propane to power the flame throwers, and bike parts to get the thing moving. With your help this year's project will be even badder! THANK YOU!
