Risks and challenges
There are challenges we all face on a daily basis. And with over 2 decades in the music industry I've had to learn many lessons as I navigated the treturous waters of the business.
The biggest lesson I've learnd, dedication & percerverience are the cornerstone of sucess. I call it "THE FOLLOW THROUGH"! Anyone can have a dream, but without a plan, your dead in the water. A business plan is imperitive to completing your goal. But even with the best laid plan there are risks & challenges.
To set your mind at ease as a backer of my kickstarter project I've listed some challenges/risks below. I've also given some of the ways I feel I can step up to those challenges to make this one of the most rewarding projects of my career.
1. Write songs for the project.
The songs I am working on reflect the emotion of the photos & paintings in my art book that cosiponds with the CD. The paintings/photography has already been completed but the songs have yet to be finished.
RISK: It can take months to write enough songs to put together a CD. Writers block can hold up a project quicker than anything. But I've been writing since I was 12yrs old and have learned that if ya get stuck you don't always have to go at it alone.
I have a wealth of incredible songwriting friends to draw from to help me complete this project if I get caught in a creative funk.
2. Produce & record the songs for the project.
This part of the project can take anywhere from 3 days to 3 months. I have a state of the art recording studio @ my disposal 24/7. This gives me the opportunity to complete the project in time & budget to be able to turn the tracks over for manufacturing and distribution.
RISK: Recording delays can come out of nowhere... Sickness, vocal fatigue, RECORD LABEL DROPS YOU!! Good news, I'm feeling great, the vocal pipes are strong & I can't drop myself from my own lable. This is the easy part!
3. Manufacturing & Distribution
If you've never been a part of fulfilling a project it's an eye opener. The creative side of thing is a blast!! the business is a bore. It's easy to get stuck in the weeds because the project is creativly complete, but not yet delivered to the fan.
RISK: Delay of manufacturing & delivery.
Over the years I have gained many relationships with manufacturers in all kinds of fields, printing, processing & delivery. I have a team of top notch professionals that will help to insure prompt delivery of the project.
Music and art are a labor of love. The most gratifying thing about a project like this is that you, the fan, the listener, the viewer, the partner, get to make it happen. So even though there are risks. We will prevail. With some good old follow through.
Thank you for helping me to achive my goal of keeping music & art alive.
