LUCIDIA - Following a traumatic event, Evan Ross (Bryce Johnson) suffers a psychotic break leaving him tormented by violent dreams. At his therapist's suggestion Evan tries lucid dreaming to help control his nightmares. But before long, his waking life and dream state bleed together, pushing him deeper into the dark places of his mind.
The film is headed by writer/director Micah Stuart and supported by a stellar crew, many of whom worked on his award winning short, The Ballerina And The Rocking Horse. LUCIDIA is a tightly woven thriller following a man forced to confront his demons. The dark and suspenseful story line is brought to light in the beautiful and dream like camera work of DP Austin Nordell.
LUCIDIA is an ambitious project with multiple locations, a half dozen characters, special effects, and fight scenes. It will be shot on a high end Red camera and involves a group of very talented professionals both in production and post-production. The 12 minute short is being filmed for the big screen in high definition and with superb quality. We are very lucky for the team we have and grateful for the support from our Kickstarter community. That support is what makes this all possible.
From Micah, the cast and the crew, thank you for your support! We can't wait for you to experience LUCIDIA.

Risks and challenges
Even though this is a short film, all the effort, equipment, and facilities are needed just like any full-length feature. We've prepared a 5 day shooting schedule with an experienced and professional crew. But there are still many pieces left to this puzzle. Support from the Kickstarter community will build the funds and exposure we need to open doors, acquire the best locations, and a talented cast.
We're prepared to shoot and have a final product within 6 weeks. Since our director is also a full-time editor (for major motion picture trailers) there's no worry that our film will sit on a shelf untouched. This will get made and we will be extremely excited to debut LUCIDIA on a local LA screen.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
