DisReality Gears is a webcomic about Teagan and Sree, an engineer and a computer programer, ripped from our world and thrust headlong into a Diesel Punk world existing in tandem to our own. A world where the very laws of physics laugh at them, where the people are different, the land is different, the languages and customs are like nothing they've ever seen. Based on the Science Fiction of HG Wells and Jules Verne, but moved forward in time, as if it were written in the 1930's or '40's, with gas powered engines replacing the steam that drove so many of their creations.
DRG is brought to you by Studio Dypen, a collaborative team of Chris Hudzieczko, also known as Dyluthus, and Alexander Hollins, also known as Leaking Pen (DYluthus PEN). We've been working together to continue the webcomic anti-Heroes at http://www.antiheroescomic.com for a bit over a year, and have worked together to create a world and a story of our own we'd like to tell. This is the first collaboration created by us, but we hope it will not be the last.
Our intention is a twice a week update schedule, publishing in preset issues of 25-30 updates, with small breaks in between issues. The first issue is already scripted and being drawn, and will be ready to start posting when we launch in January. And launch we will! We are coming to Kickstarter to hopefully cover the creation of the comic and the first year of production, but even if the KS fails, we will launch the comic.
Our Primary goal is $400. To break that down
$50 for Amazon and Kickstarter fees
$75 to register a business for DyPen Studios
$100 for advertising during the year. We intend to mostly, if not exclusively, advertise with Project Wonderful.
$175 for incidental expenses. You never know what can crop up.
If we meet our goal, we guarantee that we will run the comic for a full year, and release AT LEAST 4 issues in the year.
Characters!
Lets take a look and meet a few of our main characters!

Meet Teagan and Sree. They work together under Doc. We'll meet him in a minute. They have a friendly rivalry going, as mechanic and all around builder Teagan often asks Sree if he's up to doing any "real work", and Sree maintains that her creations would remain motionless hunks of metal without his magic fingers to give them life. They work together at an as yet unnamed institute under "The Doc".

Half Doc Brown, Half Doctor Frankenstein, all business. Doc has some ideas about mass, reality, and the limits of speed and motion that challenge the status quo, but he has the math to back them up. All he needs is to prove himself right. With Teagan and Sree to do all the actual building and programming, he's created several devices that have already found use in particle physics and magnetic research. His latest device, a large metal doughnut of sorts, promises to revolutionize the field. If... it ever stops bursting into flames and melting.
The three work together at The Institute, a private facility dedicated to researching the unprofitable, and making it turn a profit. Both Doc and The Institute lie nameless at the moment! We're selling their names as part of the Kickstarter!
We've already given a bit of the plot away, in that something in the lab goes horribly wrong, thrusting Teagan and Sree into a world like ours, but not quite. We will be introducing more of the characters over the next few weeks, but first, The Prince.

No, not everyone is blue in this new world. Just Royalty. Gives new meaning to Blue Blood...
Stretch Goals
$650Multi Colored Paper Hanger If we beat our base funding goal by 75 percent, we'll do an additional set of wallpapers, similar to the ones above. We do already have 5 more coming during the duration of the Kickstarter, and will do 5 more, both the above poster style and desktop wallpapers for every character. This will be for every backer level
$800 Studio Dypen (locked)
$900 Double Trouble. We guarantee regular updates to the comic for two years, and 5 issues (25-30 pages) each year instead of 4. In addition, we'll print up some stickers of the DRG Logo and add them to every backer level 5$ and above
$1250 OOO, Pretty! If we can reach 1250, Dyluthus, who is currently operating using older, outdated versions of graphics programs, will be able to buy the newest versions of what he needs. This will help us give you better comics, and more of them!
$2500 SHINY! If you crazy kooks in KS land see fit to give us this much for the project, we will buy Dyluthus a new computer! This will allow better art, and quicker! We will promise 6 issues a year, and move to a 3 days a week schedule.
Risks and challenges
The risks are that we will fail to produce the comic, and that it won't be popular enough to pay for itself and continue. Chris and I have, as Studio Dypen, been doing a weekly webcomic for over a year at www.antiheroescomic.com without a missed update. In addition, we are already working on the first issue, and it should be done and ready to start posting before the new year! If the Kickstarter passes, we pledge to make the comic for one full year, even if we end up with no readers (which won't happen)
