About this project
In 2077, public enemy number one doesn't manufacture high-explosives or rob banks, he types 215 words-per-minute on a computer keyboard and, in the digital-dominant future, that means everything. A reclusive hacker, known only as King Hacker, rebels against an oppressive, brain-washing government on a virtual battleground. The King fights for restoration of "real" human contact in a world controlled by the fear of what that could mean.

Where You Fit In.
No donation is unimportant. $1 can stretch quite far in terms of low-budget filmmaking. Your $1 might be the difference between success or failure. Read through the rewards selection and if you're compelled enough by a particular option, make a donation! If not, spread the word and we hope you enjoy the pilot episode when it's released.
Where The Donations Go.
The money will be primarily put toward the production of the pilot episode, which includes: compensation for a knowledgeable crew, a quality camera and lens package, high-quality audio gear, a solid grip/lighting package, locations, insurance, and, of course, food to keep the crew from starving. We want the film's quality to be deserving of your time and money, and we want to present it with the best means available to myself and Cineline Productions (http://www.cinelineproductions.com/).
However, you already know all that as I'm sure you also know that science fiction is not cheap to produce, even if it is a web series. Once the funds for donator's rewards is set aside, the rest of the funds will be distributed throughout our departments very carefully. Cineline Productions owns two full RED camera packages (the same camera used for THE SOCIAL NETWORK and DISTRICT 9), and a proper editing bay to handle the footage. Three out of the four major locations are available to us without any cost at all, while the fourth location will be at a soundstage in Orange County with built sets and a full grip and lighting package, available to Cineline for an extremely low cost.
So, what exactly are we spending the $4,000 goal on?
Much of it will be contributed to production design and visual effects, specifically in a sequence that requires minor set-building and some practical effects. All the other locations will be re-designed, with in-camera and (very subtle) computer effects, to make our available locations fit within the world of King Hacker; All of which will be overseen by an extremely knowledgable friend, whose visual effects credits include work on major motion pictures like The Avengers and Prometheus.
Essentially, Cineline Productions has tons of resources at their disposal as well as passionate individuals who believe in this project and, finally, most of the film's budget, will be put toward making this world as believable as possible to audiences.

Help us spread the word to your family and friends. Anyone can turn on a camera and shoot a movie (and there is nothing wrong with that at all!) but what we want to accomplish with this show requires additional support and resources... We want to take this production to the next level and create a new world that audiences can escape to. We want a properly functioning production that doesn't rush the magical moments that are so important to making a project worth making in the first place. The money we receive will be spent to make this the best pilot episode it possibly can be.

Risks and challenges
The question is always: "Will we have enough funds to complete the project?"
Anything can happen on set and, a lot of the time, it does. Working in the film business for the past six years has taught us that there are no guarantees when it comes to filmmaking. Los Angeles has beautiful weather and it almost never storms here... But we can't tell you how many times bad weather has erupted on the one day we decide to shoot or an actor's schedule conflicts with the shoot days or the director falls ill... Whatever it may be, rest assured that we have worked in this industry long enough to excel at adapting to whatever the situation entails.
Cineline Productions is already well-equipped with RED cameras, powerhouse editing bays and an available sound stage... but now we can use those tools for a project that we're passionate about. In other words, this project will get made, no matter what...
However, our passions don't rid us of our biggest challenge: the genre. Science fiction isn't cheap. Especially science fiction set decades in the future, and we want to do everything possible to make this a fully realized, believable and tangible world... Our biggest obstacle to overcome: Showing you, the audience, a world you've never seen before but also convincing you that it could be a possible outcome for our own future.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
