Who are you?
Hi, everyone! My name is Andrew. Welcome to my second Kickstarter campaign.
What's this all about, then?
I'm creating a 5-song EP of chill-out music inspired by winter. Each track is inspired by an image from the National Gallery of Art, Washington, presumed to be in the public domain (Open Access policy here).
What else have you done?
My first campaign focused on Ambient Music inspired by Charles Messier. Rewards were delivered 2 weeks ahead of the projected delivery date. I've included a couple tracks from the project for you to preview.
Ring Nebula (M57)
Trifid Nebula (M20)
Where will my pledge be going?
I've planned to put the proceeds from this campaign toward *eventually* purchasing Native Instrument's Komplete 11. Komplete 11 came out this year, comes with a crazy amount of sampled instruments, synths and effects and runs $1,199 USD -- approx. $1,600 CDN (which is $1,550 more than I currently have saved up).
The more electronic instruments I have available to compose with, the better.
Are you offering any stretch goals?
Yes, but only for Toonie Pledge and Producer Pledge backers. Stretch goals are as follows:
25 Toonie or Producer backers = 1 additional song
50 Toonie or Producer backers = 1 additional song
75 Toonie or Producer backers = 1 additional song
100 Toonie or Producer backers = 1 additional song
$500 or more in pledges when this campaign ends = 1 additional song
What file types will I get?
Wav and mp3.
How will I receive the files?
I'll post a unique project update for your pledge level with a DropBox link and download instructions.
What's your favourite fruit?
Now -> November 28: managing this campaign / composing / mixing / mastering
November 29 -> December 23: posting project comments & updates / composing / mixing / mastering
December 24: I'll post an update for each pledge level with a DropBox link and instructions on or by Christmas Eve.
One song is already finished and a second one has been started. :)
Thanks for checking out my campaign!
Risks and challenges
This is my second campaign, so I completely understand that some people may be skeptical as to my ability to deliver.
As mentioned, my first campaign's rewards were delivered in mid-October 2016 (projected delivery date was November 2016).
I used to release a full album of 10 or more songs every 10 weeks for a little over 2 years. I haven't been as prolific this year, but I still meet my deadlines.
Unless something happens to both of my computers or life gets in the way, I will be delivering rewards to backers before Christmas 2016.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
