"All of the pain will just go away when you see your beautiful little bundle of joy." Yes, creating a baby is absolutely amazing but the pain doesn't just go away - physically, emotionally and mentally - the fourth trimester can really hurt! However, it helps to know you are not alone. Not the only one wondering if you really do love your baby. Not the only one avoiding the mirror so you don't have to see those stretch marks. Not the only one asking for help. This is where we come in. We are a community of mothers just trying to support other mothers during their life after birth. Offering honest, friendly advice from people who have been through or are going through this crazy journey of motherhood.
What is The Fourth Trimester?
So 'the fourth trimester' is a term given to the first few months after birth, you know, those terrifying months where people actually trust you to keep a tiny human alive. Hence the name of our new magazine.
What makes The Fourth Trimester different?
All articles are written by mums, real life human mums who want to share their stories to help other real life mums feel better during their fourth trimester. It's real, it's honest, it's gritty. We don't shy away from the nasty aspects of the fourth trimester, and believe me, it gets nasty.
We have all content for issue 1 and are currently hard at work on the design. We can always use helping hands though so if you are a mum, or you just like mums, and want to help then please get in touch - email@example.com
You can also find us over on Instagram at @fourthtrimag where you can join in with #askfourthtri - anyone can anonymously ask a question about pregnancy, birth or postpartum life and our real life mamas will offer their advice and experiences.
Every pledge from this campaign receives a copy of the first ever issue of The Fourth Trimester.
Who are you?
I am Amy. I am a journalist and first time mum to Milo. I struggled during my fourth trimester. I cried every day for a month - I still don't know why, I guess those hormone changes hit me hard. I was told by professionals that I do not have depression and they suggested I try to keep happy each day by eating a banana - don't get me wrong I love bananas but it's not exactly what I wanted to hear. I needed to hear how other people have been through the same and that it does get better.
What will my money pay for?
All money raised via this campaign will go towards the printing and posting costs of issue 1.
If the goal is exceeded any extra money raised will go towards Issue 2 and a launch party for all of the lovely people that have backed this project.
We have a very exciting opportunity for advertisers to join us on our journey. Choose either an eighth page, quarter page, half page or full page advert from the reward options.

Risks and challenges
Time management: We have approximately 2 months to complete the design of the first issue. We have all content either submitted or in the last stages of planning. It is just a case of making sure we complete the full design before the magazine needs to go to print. To overcome the issue of time we have a strict schedule to adhere to.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
