"Klingen" means "to sound" in German!
An iPhone dock and acoustic sound amplifier, the Klingen Dock was directly inspired by the work of Dieter Rams. The dock features four swappable speaker grills, each reminiscent of a radio designed by Dieter Rams at Braun.
The Klingen Dock was designed to charge your iPhone, acoustically amplify your phone's internal speaker, and look great. Great for listening to podcasts while cooking or blasting music in the shower, the Klingen Dock is compatible with iPhone 5/6/7/S and has a designated slot for your Lighting Cable.
Most iPhone cases will fit in the dock, so there is no need to take your case off to use your dock! Rubber feet at the base make sure the dock won't go sliding away when you drop your iPhone in to charge.
What do you get?
The Klingen Dock comes either in black and white, and each dock is bundled with four speaker grills and four colorful end caps to allow you to customize the look of your dock.
The Klingen Dock and End Caps are 3D printed with biodegradable PLA plastic. The wood speaker grills are laser cut out of 1/8th thick birch plywood.
Risks and challenges
