In the opinion of many this really is the first true smart pack. There have been a handful of packs that have explored the idea of mobile charging and a couple even claim to be "smart". However, just a battery or the ability to check your bag's charge level with your phone doesn't make a pack "smart". What makes a pack smart is the true integration of technology that can calculate and function with your mobile devices effortlessly in many ways, not just one simple way.
The batteries you find in other packs and bags are "dumb", which means they just dump power and have no calculating or computing ability like the Colfax does. The Colfax calculates how much power it can safely send to your device to charge it as fast as possible. Those other battery systems also do not have pass-thru charging technology which means they are unable to charge both their own battery and the battery of your mobile device.
In addition, there has never been a pack that creates it's own wireless network for wireless mobile storage and access to all your digital files. Period. On top of that it's the only wireless storage system that's works with mobile devices, not just a computer. This give you true mobile computing power and abilities on your mobile devices.Last updated:
No. When you turn the pack on it broadcasts it's own secure wi-fi network, however, this network is so your mobile devices and computer can access and store digital files wirelessly. It doesn't create it's own internet connectivity. However, if there is an existing wireless internet network available you'll seamlessly be able to access the internet connection and the digital files stored in your pack's drive with your devices.Last updated:
