Hello friends! This summer I had the incredibly lucky opportunity to record with producer/musician/wizard Joe Pisapia (Joe, Marc’s Brother/Ben Folds Five/k.d. lang/Guster) in Nashville. We initially set out to record a six song EP in May, but I loved the end result so much that I decided to head back in September to record another four songs and make this my first ever full length album. Two of my good friends and bandmates from home, Matt McGuigan and Rich Miller, volunteered to go with me to play on the album, along with Joe on guitar and Marc, Joe’s brother (go figure) on additional drums for the second session. Although I’ve written quite a chunk of new music since moving back to Omaha five years ago, these ten highly personal songs are the best and grooviest representation of the love, loss and life I’ve gone through since then. I’m so proud of the work we’ve done on these songs and I really can’t wait to share them with all of you.
I funded the recording, mixing and mastering of this album myself, but my dream of putting it out on vinyl (the way it should be heard!) (although it will also sound pretty sweet on CD and MP3, if I do say so myself) is proving to be a costly undertaking. To help fund the vinyl pressing process, I’ve set up a preorder of the new album and some fun bonus prizes. As an extra thank you, anyone who preorders the album will receive an immediate, advance download of three tracks from it, including the first single, Honeybee.
Thank you so much for your help!
