WELCOME TO MIDGAARD -- the battlefield of those from Earth consumed by the alluring pull of magic and power.
Players will use their influence and units (figurines) to battle and dominate the regions of Midgaard. They do this with intent to collect resources, score points and complete their own asymmetric win conditions. However, because of limited magic, full-frontal conflict will not always be your best option. Withdrawals at key moments, resource management, strategic deception and tactical timing are all important elements of the game.
"The Lord of the Ice Garden" is a highly tactical game that comes with a wealth of detailed miniatures and beautiful artwork. Designed by a true viking by blood, Krzysztof Wolicki, the game has become well-known for its zero-luck, unique mechanics and truely absorbing theme. Based on the popular fantasy novels of the same name by author, Jaroslaw Grzedowicz, you will take the role of one of four scientists from earth, lost to the allure of magic and power. With varied setup, unit abilities and win conditions, no two games will every be the same.
The game broke records in Polish crowd-funding and with the prototype being besieged at game shows for over a year of testing, you are sure to enjoy very balanced game play devoid of random events.

There are currently no plans to release the game in retail outside of Europe. Kickstarter is also the only place the English edition is available. If you want to get a hold of the game, be sure to get it now.
This edition of the game only comes with English rules. German, Polish and other language editions will be available later at Essen and through our company store. Feel free to contact us if you`d like to know more.

Risks and challenges
The game has already been through a successful 1st edition print run on Kickstarter, so we are confident we can deliver the game on schedule with the highest quality components possible.
There are no expected delays at this time and we plan to send the game into manufacturing in July-August with a December 2015 delivery date.
