Your suggestion is quite right. We realized that the previous updates are lack of transparency, so we started to add more details from this update. We are happy to see backers begin to understand the hard job we are facing. Please believe that we will do better!
Although we've answered in the update, we'd like to explain here in case some backers haven't taken a look. Please allow us to explain in detail:
About third-party APIs: We are working hard to increase the number of supported languages. In the process, we will work with companies such as Microsoft and Google, but only if the translation quality is acceptable, so we are constantly testing and upgrade.
About the location permission: when you are using our app to have a conversation, positioning will help you better to record it. For example, conversations in Paris and London will be automatically classified. You can find this feature in the "History" function. This location is only recorded locally in the app and will not be uploaded to the cloud.
Location permission is not a must: you can disable location without affecting usage. However, we found that some older mobile phones will automatically put Bluetooth and location permissions together, so one user told us that once he turned of location, Bluetooth was also turned off and the product cannot be used. Maybe this can be solved in a deeper settings.
About permission to contacts: After investigation, we found that only Chinese speech recognition needs such permission. That is because they also have voice activation which can be used for dialing the contact, so the API will need this permissions. . This is a great feature, but it may not be applicable to us. Communication in non-Chinese should not be involved, we will find a solution as soon as possible.
Finally, we want to reiterate our emphasis on the protection of user information, everything will be done under the premise of minimizing permissions, thank you for your support and feedback!

Absolutely only ship a working and fully tested product. If you will encounter further delays, then you need to throttle up your communication even more to keep us abreast of what's going on every step of the way. And if you will be super late to the point of unreasonable delays or unpredictable wait times, then start offering credit refunds as an option.
I have received mine finally but wish I hadn't. What a load of complete rubbish. One earpiece won't charge and they don't work hardly at all and when they do the delay is terrible. How you think you can get away with sending this rubbish out I will never know. I want to know how I can send back and get a full refund. The product is not fit for purpose.
Change the data you collect, or refund. There is no reason for taking personal information for a translator app.
I'm taking a 3rd trip to Dominican Republic this next 2 weeks. I have been waiting patiently for this to try it out on my trips. I'm going to be taking another trip to another Spanish speaking country in October. I can't wait any longer, especially not until November. I was really hoping to try this out in a real-world environment and provide my feedback and peoples reactions, but you are making it difficult now.
Hello. Just wanted to say i do not want any coupons for any future purchases! I needed this for the trip im about to take, and not in november...that will probably turn to december or January!!!! Thats like 12 months delay, not good

Between shipping late or a buggy product, both will be unacceptable. Unfortunately, if I choose between two evils, I'd rather you ensure it works right before shipping it. Otherwise, I suggest you start opening up options for refunds to start.

I received mine today. I left the earbuds inside the case and let it charge. I could see a glowing light on both of them inside the case. Once I took them out, I was able to sync my phone to one of them but they never seem to sync. The one that syncs to my phone has a blue light on it when you take it out of the charge case but the light on the other goes out once it's removed from the charge case. I thought maybe I didn't charge it properly, so I tried charging a second time just in case. The light still goes out once I take it out of the charge case.
received mine today, but I have a problem with my WT2 (iPhone X; iOS11.4.1)
only the "ask Mode" works(if I only connect 1 Headphone/blue light), if i connect both Headphones (green light) only the microphone works. I don't hear the translation in the Headphones (and I also don't here the "warm Tone" when I touch it to record at manual mode. Only the Smartphone translate it. So Auto Mode and Manual mode doesn't work (no sound/only microphone) translation work (see it at the "chat display" at the smartphone)

@all, Hey guys, sorry for late reply, we will soon release new update and keep you informed more frequently. We are working now to optimize the stability of connection, as we use a specific communication protocol in order to achieve "1+2" system, this has caused a few bugs, even our factory are facing insufficient capacity issues because producing WT2 is harder than they thought. Although we have just sent out hundreds of products, we know that this speed does not satisfy us let alone our dear backers. Please give us more patience to raise the production capacity, and we are also studying compensation measures for the delay. However, our goal has never changed, that is to deliver an innovative and qualified product to you in the shortest possible time.

Hey guys, I received my translator last month (thanks!) but the one side doesn't appear to hold a charge for long. Upon unboxing, the right one had charge and was attempting to pair unsuccessfully with the left, because there was no charge. I figure fine, charge it up. I let it do-so, gave it an unsuccessful test run (bad signal at my work) and took it home. Went to show my folks a few days later, and the left one was dead again (right still had charge). How long are they supposed to hold power, and why is it just the one dying every time?
Also, are there plans to include Italian? Italy is one of my favorite travel locations, but it's 'really' hard to find English speakers there.
