Status + Rewards + Schedule
Our most important task since the project was funded on Monday has been to begin working out a detailed, but flexible production schedule. We hope to complete the project in about 3 months, but as we haven’t raised enough funds to shut our studio down completely, we’ll most likely spread out this production over the next 6 months or so.
Within these past few days, we’ve also begun programming a playable ‘proof of concept’ and preparing for the delivery of your rewards.Your rewards
Around the middle of this month, Amazon will release the funds we have raised during the campaign. Once that happens, we’ll produce and begin delivering all of the rewards we have promised (with the exception of the game itself). We hope to be able to have all of them in the mail to you, if not there already, by no later than the middle of June.Future updates
Our future updates will attempt to strike a balance between keeping those of you interested in the development our game informed, up-to-date and involved while at the same time not becoming a nuisance to those who might be simply happy knowing that it’s on track and doing well.
Our updates will report on our progress, show visuals when available and seek your opinions about the game’s design and play. We’ll also begin preparing for the eventual release of the game by asking you to help us to identify the various aspects of the game that may be of interest to future players and come up with the best ways to reach them.
All in all, we hope to be able to ask you for your opinions at many points along the way, from the earliest designs to the late beta.Production schedule
In general, our production will happen in the following phases
1. proof of concept
a very crude, playable version of the game with temporary visuals and basic functionality
2. complete level
a single, fully functional level of the game with near final, optimized visuals and programming
3. mini game
a bare bones but complete, 3 level version of the game (desert, mountains, city), with the overall game logic in place
4. in-game + animated content
with the AI of the game mostly in place, we’ll be concentrating on building the individual levels and animated clips.
