A0.75 is here!

While we’re still waiting for Steam to approve of our build and release it on Steam, here’s the A0.75 PC build. We’ll release the other two platform builds next week.

Direct Download from Mediafire

If you’re looking for the optimum performance, the first things you can tweak are grass distance and amount, changing these to normal or lower will give you at least 10fps. Next would be water reflection, turn that off will give you another 10fps. Finally, tweaking the shadow distance will also give you large performance gains. For memory reduction, turn down the amount of grass, trees, and terrain.

I can see all the updates on Steam but it might be nice to keep them coming here too so we still get emails to see how the project is coming along. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is waiting for "a finished game" (a rare thing in this age of release first patch later I appreciate) but it would be nice to have some indication of when you expect to wrap up the project vaguely and deliver on things like the digital art book etc. It's coming up on 2 years over due now? Not that I mind, its great you have the funds to keep going on this but it would be good to know if there is an end in sight... or at least imagined

It's been quite a while since there was last an update on this. I'm sure your backers would appreciate one.

So... since no one answered me the last time I posted this question, here we go again:
So... how do we transfer singleplayer savegames? Is that what the ISOs and the ISO Converter is for? Because, believe it or not, there is not ISOs in my ISO folder at C:\Users\username\Documents\PlanetExplorers\CreateData\Isos It's all empty. The ISO Converter, which automatically detects the ISO folder, also states that there is "0 ISOs" in the folder. Or do I just need to do nothing and just play the updated version, and it will automatically continue my singleplayer story savegame? I haven't actually built anything yet on it. Maybe that is why there is no ISOs? Is that what ISOs are for? Created items? Or created AND placed items? I don't get this. Will I have to start over with the story or...? :/

I would really appreciate if someone could actually answer my questions. I love this game, so naturally I want to keep playing, but I don't want to lose all my data too...

Never got my steam key for this.

      Finally a working version! :-)
The standalone versions never seemed to work with me. Yet the Steam version works flawlessly. :-)

By the way, so far, I love the game. Good job!

It is live, on Steam. I've gotten my codes. If you haven't yet, be patient, they're coming.

Okay, looks like I was both right and wrong. What I saw on Steam was that they are currently selling the preorder for Planet Explorers on there. So you can buy it, but you can't play it yet. Sorry for the confusion. I KNEW I saw something....

I DID see it on Steam, in Early Access. Not this version, but.....I'll look again and give a link tonight after work.

    9. Torben S. on

I just checked and I couldn't find it in the Steam store. so I'm pretty sure it isn't there yet. And noone can buy it on Steam yet.

What I ment is that the game IS on Steam, in Early Access. Not this newest version, but it's defentily on there. So it seems if you buy it on Steam you get access, but the rest of us who backed it on KS need to wait until the game 'officialy' launches in order to get our Steam keys?

    11. Torben S. on

@Greg You shoul re-read the first sentence of the news. "still waiting for Steam to approve of our build and release it on Steam"

So Steam keys have not been sent out yet, even though the demo is on Steam? Huh?

    13. Motoki on

Okay thanks. I'm going to put it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Planet Explorers and then once I activate the Steam key do verify game cache and cross my fingers and hope that the Steam client only needs to download the game exe and not the whole thing again. :)

    14. Pathea Games 2-time creator on

@Motoki Same version, just one with Steam shell.

    15. Motoki on

Any differences from this vs the version sent to Steam? I'd imagine the exe will call the Steam client at very least.

    16. Pathea Games 2-time creator on

@James Yes, once the game's on Steam everyone will get a corresponding Steam key over a week's time.

    17. Stormcry on

      You guys ROCK, Pathea Games!
It's just beautifull how dedicated you guys/girls are. Really amazing the work you put into this great game.

    18. James Moss

Perhaps I missed it but does this mean that we will be getting the steam keys to download and play trough steam soon then?

    20. Pathea Games 2-time creator on

@Leo Knijff The Steam version will have it.

    21. Pathea Games 2-time creator on

@Avarchillion The earlier builds all worked on Mac, provided you have the necessary hardware to support it. For people without good gpus, we put in the opencl cpu option (which you'll need to select in the launcher options).

    22. Leo Knijff on

Any E.T.A on when an updater can be expected? Kinda isn't fun having to deal with my connection being throttled for over 6 hours just so I can get an update. I probably wouldn't have bothered paying for Alpha access if I knew it was going to be this much of a pain.

    23. gandalf.nho

      Nice, downloading...

    24. Avarchillion on

will this build finally work on a mac? up to now none of the previous builds worked at all.

    25. Steph on

      Great stuff!
