What it's like to fly!

We're now at 85% with about 8 days and 23 hours to go! We're really close now, down to the final stretch! Please keep on helping us spreading the word anyway you can! On Steam, we're now at #26, with 5 days to go until they select the next batch of games. Today, we'll show you something from alpha 0.6, it's the physics based control system of the hovercraft. Everything's pretty rough here, but you can get a feel on how your chopper will fly. The templates would be the propellers/rotors, engine, weapons, landing gear, lights, cockpit, extra seats, and fuel cell. The engine output, weight of the materials, type of the materials, and the amount of fuel will all play a part in determining how fast, how high, and how far your machine will be able to fly. 

Since it is physics based, where you put your rotor will also matter, putting it off-center might cause the machine to be unstable and crash. We're still determining how far crashing will affect the machine's durability.

      i am curious about that too. will there be a limit to how large something can be because i am thinking of cargo aircraft that can hold my vehicles. or a vehicle that i can make with multiple seats in it so i can have myself and a bunch of other people in the vehicle.

      Will there be a limit to the size of vehicles down the track (having fantastic visions of teaming up with friends to build a helicarrier...)?

      An autobalance chip would be handy, it would calculate based on centre of mass, thrust positions and power per thruster it would automatically adjust the thrust to hover at a height, and allow pitch, yaw and semi roll movements without tipping over

      Please tell me we will be able to add passenger seats in our vehicles? This would be an awesome feature if you have friends playing with you.

      Wow that looks impressive! Just imagine if you had several villages and you could use this as a fast transportation vehicle!

      Looks more like some kind of VTOL rather then a hovercraft, I don't think hovercrafts fly that high. But it still looks fun lol

      In the next update can you add all items to the build mode (especially pigments) since I like to test things on that before putting them on my story one.

      Ahh soo awesome. If only we had basic multiplayer for the current alpha, I bet this thing would be over 100% by now, but as it is, I'm sure we'll make it- and .6a is going to be AWESOME.

      Just a reminder to everybody, keep spreading the word on your social media networks, especially highly volatile ones like Reddit- just do a search and get involved in the discussion, since tons of folks will probably have questions and not want to bother actually trying the alpha/demo for themselves!

      Just curious, is there any plan or possibility for multiple seats per craft? Having a large VTOL with gunner positions would be fantastic for multiplayer or even in singleplayer with NPC party members.

      :D awsume. would be fun if there is some engine trouble and such when flying hehe engines start to smoke or start to burn and have to land to make repairs or owerheatin or sumthing

      Once again I am surprised to see what can be done in PE. I'm looking forward to see more.
