About

For years now I have had many Ideas for terrain and gaming accessories, I have tried using different mediums, Clay, plaster, Sculpting in greens. None of those resulted in the quality and appearance gamers expect or that I wanted.

I have worked on many different designs and have many Ideas that can be explored to create new projects. some of these include but are not limited to, Freeway dividers, more wall systems, futuristic sets, active terrain pieces,  Hex system( i know they exist already, mine are a bit different), Stacking rock system, Interchangeable building pieces( this would be a system of walls and roofs and other pieces that could be used together to make 1 huge building, a couple of medium buildings or several small buildings, You decide and can always add more at any time, or combine with your friends. Interior walls could be arranged and the roofs left off and combat could be played out entirely inside the building. Because of the fact that it is expandable and interchangeable there is no need to buy the whole system at once, just buy 1 small model  at a time when you have disposable income.  A complete fantasy terrain system, wild plants, giant mushrooms, Brain plants, more.  Most of these of course would have blown out or blown up sections, bullet hole details,  multipurpose bunker, multipurpose teleport pads, multipurpose Generator/shield gen, Active terrain with Electronics, lite up terrain with the tiny LEDs and battery operation, random effect areas, active grid areas, interchangeable building parts,  Triple beam towers, a parking garage structure, Bridges, and  many more.

Of course painting the items would be up to you the customer. But I also have in mind a set that would not require paint and would have the details all etched onto them, this depends on finding a material that would not show burn marks from the laser. These are just a few of the ideas I have and want to realize on a laser cutter,

The laser cutting machine that will be purchased for this project will result in exactly the quality and detail needed. The computer controls will allow for easy reproduction as well as modification of existing designs.  Perfect 25mm scale miniatures are possible. It will also allow for easy scale changes so any project/kit made for 25mm scale can easily be scaled up or down to what ever scale is desired.

The perfect laser cutting machine will have X,Y,Z and tilt, of course 4 axis machines are very expensive, but a good quality machine can be had with 3 axis(X,Y,Z) for a reasonable price.

Designs for many kits have already been worked on and only need to be converted to the format the laser cutter can use.

The variety of materials the laser cutter can work with allows for increased textures and finer details.

An extra laser tube will also need to be purchased because they do have limited life and if the tube is damaged in shipping or dies during the production of the rewards I will already have a spare on hand and will be able to finish the rewards production without interruption

The Majority of the Funds raised for this project will be used to purchase the laser cutter, the spare laser tube, the computer system to control the Cutter(if it does not come with one) The rest will go for the purchase of raw materials for the production of rewards and to pay for the shipping of the rewards.

Risks and challenges

The only challenges I can foresee is learning the computer interface to convert my designs into the format the cutter can use.
From my research it seems that most of the laser cutters use corel draw or a similar software to create the designs and format them correctly for the laser cutter.
The only other challenge is that some of the designs do not convert easily to 2 dimensional cutting, in this case they will have to be sliced in the software into layers so they can be stacked up to recreate the design.
