About this project
Mine is a short film that follows a group of American soldiers on their journey to overcome the dangers of the Vietnam War. The project, up until now, was funded completely out of pocket. Now we are looking for help.
We've been working on this film for a while now and our dedication shows on screen. We held location scouts in the winter:
...and in the summer:
...just so we knew every detail about each location when it came time to shoot.
Production is Finished!
The film was shot in Glen Cove, NY last year. It was quite the experience. The crew was comprised of students from Brooklyn College as well as some Glen Cove locals. It took a lot of effort and cooperation to make this film come to life.
Here is where we need your help. All donations will go towards any post production related needs. Most importantly, we want to have a great musical score that complements the amazing picture we have so far. We can really make this film come to life with music and sound, so we desperately need to rent studio space to record original songs for the film -- which will be composed by Glen Cove native and LIU Post student Michael Alvarez.
Post War Plans?
We want to take this film around the world and be able to show it to as many people as possible. However, taking the film to festivals is no cheap endeavor. The remaining donations will go towards bringing the film to festivals such as:
- South by Southwest
Without the support of our friends and family we would have never reached this point. I know we can make this film a success.
Risks and challenges
The challenges we need to overcome are as follows:
-Getting into the festivals and traveling.
-Getting the musicians and the studio needed to record the music for the film.
-Finishing the Film.
We've been going strong with this film for a few months now. For any questions, comments, or concerns, don't hesitate to contact me on Facebook.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
