We, supported by the Webcomic Hub!, are here to crowdfund the first print run of our comic, available EXCLUSIVELY through Kickstarter!
The proceeds will be used to print and deliver the comic and the additional rewards as well as to fund the continuing production of Cloverlines stories!
"Come to Earth!" they said, "Make your rockstar dreams come true!" they said.
When spacer-hick/guitarist-wannabe Yuuki got mugged of his luggage upon landing on Tokyo Interplanetary Spaceport, it seemed like he hit rock bottom.
However, a chance encounter with an Earth Idol(?) might save his dreams after all! Or will she make it a bonafide nightmare??
Come and find out in CLOVERLINES #1: 1st Live on Earth!
Okay, keep in mind what Cloverlines' overall deal is laid out in the logline at the head of this campaign page, the blurb, however, is what is specifically covered in Cloverlines #1: 1st Live on Earth!
Yeah for sure! Check out these pure art samples from inside the book!
You can also get these cool art-prints of the main characters of the book at the higher pledge levels! Get a loadda this!
The art prints will be the same size as the physical comic page dimentions!
There's a deceptively a bunch of work that we need to do to make a webcomic fit for print.
It includes proofreading, editing the story itself to fit for print, reformating of text and dialog for the print size of the comic, making sure the colors will show correctly, layouting the book itself, etc.
Check out this example we did from the original webcomic release and its printed form!
As you can see, the editing of the fonts and general layout change the reading experience for the better. We did this with most of the pages in Cloverlines #1! It's a lot of work, but it's worth it to give you something you can be proud of!
Tl;dr its £8 if you want the full-color 40-page 6.43" x 10.5" (approx 16 cm x 26 cm) physical book!
£1 (1.51$) gets you a wallpaper and our gratitude!
£4 (5.25$) gets you a .pdf for the comic, while for £7 (9.19$) you will also get the Cloverlines 12-song album.
Again, £8 (10$) gets you the actual physical book (and also previous digital rewards.)
£13 (17$) gets you the physical book and a choice between the Aimi or Yuuki art print. Pay £16 (21$) if you want both art prints!
£32 (42$) gets you a discord call with Wednesday Ash, Cloverlines project lead, where he can consult you on your current writing endeavors.
£48 (63$) gets you 8 copies of the book, this tier is meant for comic book retailers wanting to stock Cloverlines #1 in their store. This tier does not include any other physical or digital rewards. You just get 8 books.
£96 (126$) gets you an autographed copy of Cloverlines #1 by Wednesday Ash as well as all previous rewards, including the call with Wednesday Ash!
All of the values above do not include shipping for physical rewards, you will be prompted to add the appropriate shipping costs as you pledge.
Keep in mind, neither Kickstarter or This Campaign account for Value Added Tax (VAT) for the countries that have them.
So you might have additional fees if you live in a country with a VAT policy in place.
[this section was updated on 9th October 2018!]
Yeah, well...considering this is our first Kickstarter, we'd like to be conservative with our stretch goals.
£306 / 400$ / CLOVERLINES WILL UPDATE 3x a WEEK IN NOVEMBER!
So Cloverlines by default updates 1-2x a week depending on the webcomic's finances. But I we reach this stretch goal, we can afford to update 3x a week in November 2018! Yay more Cloverlines!
£459 / 600$ / CLOVERLINES WILL UPDATE 3x a WEEK IN DECEMBER ALSO!
Yep that's right! If we reach this stretch goal we will update Cloverlines 3x a week through December! Yay for longer!
£612 / 800$ / UPGRADE EVERY PHYSICAL COPY!
We will upgrade the covers of all copies of Cloverlines #1 from 80# Glossy Text Stock (it's okay) to UV coated 10pt Cardstock (it's way better)!
£764 / 1000$ / NEW CLOVERLINES SONG!
This stretch will have us to make a brand new CLOVERLINES song free for all backers! AAAA!
Take a listen to the full version of "POP! Revolution" the song featured in the Kickstarter video for this campaign! You can download "POP! Revolution" it for free using the little player below! Enjoy!
"POP! Revolution" by Cloverlines
To simulate Aimi's vocals, we use a program called Megpoid English, of which GUMI is it's main mascot representation, yeah.
Maybe in the future, if we have the budget, we'll use a real singer but today...is not that day.
Someday tho maybe!

Actually, this question actually is intertwined with the next topics which are...
Risks and challenges
Our most basic goal in making this Kickstarter is to deliver physical copies of CLOVERLINES to the people who want them anywhere in the world with as low risk as possible.
Pessimist that Ash was, he thought that was an impossibility, the challenges of coordinating printing for quality and worldwide shipping would take too many resources from what was important: creating a well-written, well-illustrated comic.
In that we have succeeded, we have independently kept Cloverlines going for the past year without compromise to the content.
But what was impossible is now extremely feasible after we found Ka-Blam Digital Printing (see the end for more information). The gist of it is, they take care of all printing and worldwide fulfillment.
This was music to Ash's ears, and we can finally start printing real comics!
Which brings us to our goal...
Ka-Blam Digital Printing is so well established that they are willing to do print runs of one copy. (Yeah just the one copy!) Which brings down the goal of this Kickstarter all the way down to literally 1 GBP.
Now, we didn't want the sensational 1 GBP goal to overshadow what the campaign was about, so we settled it at the goal we have currently and it's still as risk-free a comics Kickstarter can be.
Production wise, all the art assets are done. All the layout work for the book is done. Again, we are using Ka-Blam Digital Printing for both printing and fulfillment of which they have delivered for countless other recent comics Kickstarter campaigns.
After we get the funds, this is all the work that we need to do:
1. Receive the money from Kickstarter after their fees (this takes up to 21 business days),
2. Contact Ka-Blam Digital Printing and give them the information and funds they need to print and fulfill.
3. Deliver digital rewards to backers within two weeks of the campaign
4. Standby for backers with inquiries about their pledge until every pledge is fulfilled
Obviously, you can't reduce risk to absolute zero, but we are ready for almost any contingency that might happen during and after this Kickstarter campaign.
