The Next Generation: Widgets & Themes

Watch this video to see Kevin Miller, CEO, demonstrate a first prototype of the Widgets & Themes project. This is one of the most exciting parts of our entire Next-generation project. We’re now at a stage where it is working well enough that we can show you this first version working. This work has been enabled by all the work we’ve done under the hood over the last year or so.

Watch the video here

In this video, Kevin shows a prototype widget that displays a PDF, the code that makes it work, then explain the potential for using this feature in a variety of ways to extend LiveCode. Finally he gives a brief tour of the first early prototype widget editor, which demonstrates how you will be able to create these widgets yourself and install them into the IDE with a single click.

We hope you enjoy the video!

Boxes and LiveCode HTML5 Web Project

We have several pieces of exciting news for you today.

I'm delighted to report that the last of the physical shipping rewards have now been sent. If you were due a box of goodies from us, its on its way. The very last box shipped this week, so you should allow up to 3 weeks from 1st July for your box to arrive, then contact if yours hasn't arrived.

In other news, we have just launched an exciting follow on campaign to bring Web Deployment to LiveCode. So many of you let us know that you wanted this, and you wanted it asap, that we have decided now is the time to start funding it. We've completed the bulk of the refactoring for Next Generation, and made good progress through the stretch goals, so starting work on HTML5 web deployment for LiveCode now means we could deliver it in around a year.
