UPDATE: Check out our website http://www.thebeastofverantcity.com/ to see three scenes from the film!
The Beast of Verant City is a live action TV Spec for a larger series that can also stand on its own as a short narrative fantasy.
It’s the story of two princesses, a knight, and an inventor who travel to the city of Verant in search of support to regain control of their kingdom. On arrival they discover Verant has been thrown into disarray by a mysterious beast. To restore order to the town and to gain the support of Verant’s army, the heroes decide to take on this beast by themselves. It’s a story about courage, hope, and trust.
The goal of this project is to spark an interest in this series and find a way to bring the story of this show to life. It allows an audience to explore the fantastic world of Egremont, a mystical world where medieval meets steampunk, where this story and show take place. We also get to meet the four fascinating main characters: The Toymaker, Captain Humbert Eberstark and Princesses Nadine and Margrit.
Lord Thaddeus of Verant: Ron Komora
Lieutenant Fischer: Mark Hawk
General Percius: Harry Aspinwall
This is the third episode of our show and it represents what the standard storyline would be like. Throughout most of the show, our characters scour their kingdom gaining support for their cause as their enemy grows stronger. As they travel they encounter a variety of villains, solve mysteries, see new sights, and gain new friends.

Risks and challenges
Our biggest challenge by far is creating our set pieces, such as the train and The Beast. Fortunately, we have access to a scene shop in Attleboro. That scene shop is featured in the video and has been home to hundreds of theater productions. We will be building The Beast as well as the train there.
After production, the hardest effort will be VFX. Throughout the film, Princess Margrit learns how to use her magic powers. A portion of our budget will be put towards VFX to accurately represent her abilities.
This is our thesis film here at Emerson College. We have put together a great team and cast to make this film. We thank you for any support you can give us and wish you well.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
