About this project
Oilfield is a strategy, Euro-style game for all the family with a duration of 60 minutes for 3-5 players from ages 10+, created by the new designer Paco Yanez.
Year 1933, the oil business flourishes in Texas, turning this state into the biggest manufacturer in the world. Every day, more and more brave entrepreneurs are setting their eyes in this lucrative business. Become an oil tycoon and build your fortune exploiting the best oil fields!
First, you will need leases to set your extraction towers. Then, buy some good factories to drill the resources. Put your fuel on sale in the local and national markets. And finally, invest wisely to establish your fortune!
Take the lead acquiring the best leases, build the best factories, drill the resources before your oil field runs out, and sell at the best price to achieve the victory in Oilfield!

Our most recent challenge has been our personal bet for new talents and help them bring their games to live for the entire world. This is Oilfield’s case.

Oilfield is a family game of resource management for 3-5 players, who will play as oil tycoons trying to find the best oilfields in Texas, to drill the precious black gold.
To win the game, players will have to acquire investments (VP), either purchasing them in the market or exchanging them for resources.

The game is played in several rounds, each of which is divided in two phases:
Selection phase: In this first phase, the players will chose a public action from the game board in turn order. Once all the players have placed their worker in the chosen action, they will pick one action from the cards in their hands, and will place it face down on the table, hidden from the other players.
The public and hidden actions are essentially the same, but some are unique in each set of actions, like “Invest” in the public section or “National” in the hidden section.
Action phase: Once all players have chosen their two actions, they are performed in board order. The public actions have a set order in which they will be solved, so starting with “Lease”, all actions will be done in order. Amongst others, here you can find actions such as “Lease” to gain rights to new territories, “Build” to set your factories in your lands, “Drill” to extract the resources, “Local” to sell them in your local market, “Invest” to acquire investments, etc.
Next, all players show their hidden action and execute them in turn order, starting with the current initial player. The hidden actions are a selection of the public actions, but the “National” action is also available, which allows the players to sell their resources in the national market to get better prices.
But be careful! The prices in the national market vary depending on the supply and demand, so if several players try to do this action at the same time, the prices will decrease significantly. At the end of the game, the winner will be the player that acquired more investments during the game.
We have some cool ideas for stretch goals, like special tiles for new extraction towers, or rules and components for 5 players (all this already tested and balanced).
Once we've reached our primary goal, we'll reveal the specific targets to reach each stretch goal, but here are some examples:
*In both pledge levels, we offer the option of picking up the games during the Essen Spiel 2016. The date of delivery states that the games will be handed out in December 2016, but they will be ready for pick up during the Spiel in October 2016.

Oilfield has been a huge success in every event where it has been demoed, so you can count on getting a cool, well thought game.

The rest of the games will ship out from our factory to the various depots around the same time as Essen, so we expect those to have time to get to the depots and out to you, the backers, by the end of the year.
Risks and challenges
There are always risks when you back a Kickstarter project, especially if the project is from a new creator, but we have made sure to consider and minimize any risks due to our inexperience with crowdfunding.
Also, we have more than 8 years of experience developing and manufacturing games; we have the knowledge and the means to succesfully make this project a reality!
Our manufacturer already has the information to produce the games, so we will have margin to modify and fix in a timely manner any issues that may arise during production. They are also properly informed of all the stretch goals, to incorporate them in the game box as they are unlocked during the campaign.
For international shipping, we will count with the help of Ship Naked, a company with wide experience handling the logistics of Kickstarter products.
For the campaign planification we have relied on the expertise of Dan Yarrington and his team, whose consultancy services have helped to successfully launch many other Kickstarter projects.
