Have a question?
Oops, I means Andrew there, not Robbie. Gods, Iithink my hands are in full rebelion against my brain now! lol!
@ Robbie - I hope we get to see the stuff too, I cannot wait to see how the prisoners look :)
That's a shame, but totally understandable.
Sorry, meant Ronin, lol!
Welcome to yet another amusing typo from yours truly ;)
@ Robbie - If I had a decent enough camera then I would do that, sadly the only camera that would work is my phone and that would run out of storage after a few minutes of video, the battery wouldn't last much longer than that either, using the camera for video really kills my phone fast :(
Thanks for the response, but who is Robin?
Have you considered videoing any of the demo games you run? You are *clearly* very enthused and knowledgeable about this game, I'm sure many would appreciate it? I know I would. ;)
@ Davros - to late, my brain overheated :( lol.
@ Andrew Rees - how long is a piece of string? It can take a couple of hours to maybe a month (or more) to get the approval of something since Skybound are a small company themselves and immensely busy with dealing with all sorts of things all the time. Countless TWD materials come out every month and they probably have a backlog of other things to approve and do them in order so they don't show any favouritism. Trust me, we will see everything but it may not be until after the campaign ends :(.
Luke & Robin it's just missing something.......keep going with your duo names and you'll get there (psst Batman is a good one ;)
@ Luke & Robin V I have run a game that included 6 players and it was great to watch and the players really enjoyed it too. The game should be fine for younger players, though they may need a little assistance in comprehending the rules right away, but I have found younger children to be somewhat ruthless in gaming, heck my own 7 year old niece is probably one of the most ruthless gamers I have ever met, she constantly defeats me in Super Dungeon Explore and I have to gihht tooth and nail to scratch a win against her in Smallworld, lol.
I kind of went off on a tangent there, but yes, this game can be played with more players and it works well, but I recommend a larger playing area than the 20x20 they have as standard, I played the 6 player on a 4 foot by 4 foot and it was perfect for it once all the terrain was added. I hope that helps :)
@Mantic Please could something be added to the FAQ so we know the Peter Palmer approved discussion topics?
Surely each player can take control of a character, so isn't this easily 8 players to gangs of 4?
@ Mantic how long does it take for Skybound to approve the miniature sculpts as myself and everyone else would love to see the models we have unlocked?
Ive asked the question before of how many players this is for which Eduard Brennan answered (thanks) but will thus game work with 4-6 players? I though from the start this was going to be a game for the family to play. It will ba an absolute deal breaker for me if the rules dont incorporate some scenarios aimed at more players
QOL, Ninja 8)
@Peter, how about suggesting a tread for the group to discuss ?
@Peter - what would you like to discuss with us?
Eduard, with all due respect, I can find lots of other places to discuss 40K; the merits of PP vs GW business practices; and non-TWD related gaming info. I'm finding the posting of links and discussion of things like sources for RVs, additional zombie minis, terrain pieces far more useful to me in this particular area.
I thought that I was being respectful and considerate in my phrasing but perhaps more bluntness may be required.
@Eduard, don't ponder to much, no need to over do it 8)
I am presently pondering a mighty connundrum. How is discussing wargaming on a wargaming KS irrelevant? I mean, we do talk about the game on here, right? May not to to focused on talking about this specific game right at the moment, be we discussit a lot, our experiences, expectations, hopes for SG (SHIVA! lol) and so on. Heck, batreps and round ups of games, plus custom homebrew rules make quite a few appearances too.
Anyone got ideas why wargaming conversations are irrelevant on a wargaming KS? lol
@ dragonwolf - the minis are about 30mm to the eye, making them 1:50 or 1:48 ;)
210 backers to go until we get Abe and just over 7.5k for maggie :)
@Peter Palmer Agreed, more people should post less interesting but more relevant posts.
can we keep the irrelevant discussions to a minimum please? I come here for this Kickstarter.
@ George - not Ogres, but have tried game, isn't for me.
@Mike I hope your right. I know a lot of people in my gaming group will be let down if they destroy 40k. I personally wouldn't mind the departure. I'm liking what mantic has to offer rules more anyway.
Going by the list here
It seems that if the minis are 30mm, then 1:55 or 1:56 should be the right scale for vehicles. A 30mm tall mini would be approximately 5ft 6in from their feet to eyes. I've heard people mention 1/48 or 1/43 as the preferred size. Anyone have any pics to show how much of a difference there is?
@Mike have you tried Ogres in KoW?
@ Mantic if you added funds to double pledge does that count towards the backer total?
I've played about twenty games including a store tourney and a GT using clash comp rules. It's fun. Being Ogres I didn't like the ranks and such of the old editions. When my stonehorn ran away in eighth edition tourney when five dudes hit me on the side, I said "this is dumb".
@Nick - I think those rumours are going to turn out being just rules for the models and boxes mini game that debut in toy stores this fall and not a change to 40k
I think if GW shitmars 40k this year it will be the beginning of the end for them. I just wish I would have back warpath.
Myself and my group haven't tried AoS, I'd like to try it sometime though. Instead we just converted the rest of our WFB armies over to Warmaster (played in 28mm and works brilliantly) and KoW ;)
Ooo... only 215 more backers to get Abe :P
@ Eduard - you think it's bad with players giving a hard time. Try being an active AOS player, lol. It's hard sailing, but I love my Ogres
@ NickCord - I tried WM and hated it, thought it was just coz I was no good. 6 months and dozens of games later I still hated it and had worked out why, it was like playing a convoluted game of Rock Paper Scissors. Erevy units seemed to be there just to all but autokill another certain unit and so on. When I noticed that I could see why people judged 3 or 4 truly competitive lists in the game and why no one ever seemed to see the quirkier (and in my opion, cooler) units on the table. The WM gamers also seemed to really pan any game that wasn't Warmahordes too. You mentioned a different game and the look on their face was as if you just put a Lithoturd on their sofa :(
Easily the worst gaming experiences of my life and that's comparing it to paint nazis in the historical gaming area too :P (I got picked on coz a shade of red on my models like about 2 or 3 shades to dark, wth? at least I did more than basecoat my minis!).
@Eduard I hate the fact that they're prices are the way they are because they have something unique I'd love to get behind but I'm a little thin on funds so I won't be making the pp plunge for warmahords again.
I look at most of their minis and feel like they look like someone just wanted to get the job done and didn't care how, they lack inspiration. They do have some nice minis, but not many :(
The best painter/converter in our gaming group made an amazing army and went to an event and was told he couldn't play with the modified models. He then sold off the models
Might just be these ones, I'm not a fan of most of their miniatures
@ Quests - so people with the more recent plastics can't use those in their tournaments either? Seems a weird statement to make when they are trying to ram plastics down peoples' throats hahaha.
Heheh, yep, just as well you know which one it is ;)
When I did look I was amazed it hadn't done better considering that IP also, but the components do look pretty boring to me, the board looks just plain awful (much like another game they did).
They've also said that the game pieces cannot be used in their tournament war games as they are not their metal miniatures.
Hey Eduard......luckily for you I know just the KS
@ NickCord - I see their prices these daysand wonder if they have the same marketing managers lol.
I had a look at it, but after their wargames and other board games I'd be more interested in getting lithoturds instead :P lol!
