About this project
The fight for Earth has begun – prepare your tabletop for invasion!
To get all of the great game experience, with heaps of narrative battles and exciting scenarios, and all the models you need to play them plus lots of the Kickstarter exclusives, we recommend a pledge of The Invaders Arrive!
For the completionists, there is also our deluxe Alien Abduction!
This level includes all of the Invaders Arrive pledge - plus extra scenery, 3 more deluxe mats (for all your gaming table needs!), complete armies for the heroic humans and terrfiying Martians, and almost every core add-on from the Kickstarter. We have even the crashed Flying saucer from Antenociti - with its own 'Black Saucer Down' Scenario. This selection allows you to play all the scenario and full pitched battles.
If you don't fancy one of the recommended pledges - just select your level and use the credit to pick exactly what you want.
Mars Attacks – The Miniatures Game is the game of over-the-top violence played with highly detailed coloured plastic figurines, where one player commands the Martian invaders and the other commands the brave human survivors and scattered US soldiers.
The Main Boxed Game contains all of this!
Download the Playtest Rules to find out more:
- Martian Mayhem: Mars Attacks is full of wacky events and cinematic action made possible by the simple set of game mechanics that are very easy to learn, and by the game's Event Card deck.
- Story Driven Action: Follow our heroes during the battle of Greenville with fun playable scenarios, each with their own objectives: eliminate the enemy, capture the intelligence - escape the Martian invaders!
- Easy to play: Much like a board game, Mars Attacks is played on a gaming mat made of squares and players take it in turn to activate their models, choosing whether to move, shoot or fight in hand-to-hand combat.
- Simple Dice Mechanics: Shooting and hand-to-hand combat is made easy by rolling eight-sided dice to decide whether a weapon has hit its target, or whether the opponent manages to dodge out of the way.
- Highly Tactical: move a figure out from behind cover and you’re likely to get your model killed. Similarly, ganging up on an opponent or making use of a figure’s special abilities could be the difference between making a clean kill, or engaging in a frantic game of cat and mouse!
Whether you’re a veteran gamer or new to the hobby, you’ll be able to enjoy the fun of Mars Attacks, making it a game suitable for all ages.
The highly detailed Mars Attacks miniatures in the boxed game are supplied already assembled so that you can get gaming right out of the box.
They are plastic and come in different colours, meaning you can tell the difference between them on the battlefield at a glance. You can make them look even more distinctive by painting them like we have in the studio!
And yes, the helmets really are transparent - and removable so you can paint the Martian's head if you want!
Mars Attacks – The Miniatures Game contains a set of ruined Red Brick building tiles. These building tiles are plastic and are fully modular – you can assemble them in any number of ways by clipping them together using our innovative connector system.
These buildings help set the scene, and provide cover for your troops!
We’ve created a fantastic range of pledge levels to give you great rewards, exclusive figures and out of this world deals in exchange for backing our project – you can even get your own figure designed, be written into the background or get exclusive figures!
Check out the diagrams below for what's on offer! Use the right hand column to pick your pledge level.
$100 - The Will of Man
$150 - The Invaders Arrive
See the top of the page for the complete The Invader Arrive package.
$300 - Alien Abduction
MULTIPLE PLEDGE LEVELS – You can pledge for multiple levels by simply adding the value of your chosen pledge level to your current pledge. You can either choose multiples of the same level, or add on different levels in this way. You can select which additional levels you’d like in the End of Campaign Survey - for more information see Raising My Pledge in the FAQ.
SURVEY – Once the campaign has finished, we will send out a survey by email where you can let us know your contact details, which Add-ons you’d like and any additional Pledge Levels you’d like. This will be sent out a short while after the campaign finishes on the 10th of November.
Sweeten your pledge with our great value add-ons!

Shipping for all rewards is free for all US and UK backers. You do not need to do anything further to account for the shipping.
For all non-US/UK backers who have pledged at the Civilian Resistance ($15) level without selecting any add-ons, shipping is $5. For all other levels, and for backers at the Civilian Resistance level who have selected add-ons, the shipping rates are as follows:
- EU Backers need to add an additional $10 for shipping.
- All other backers need to add $15 for shipping. For example, if you choose The Invaders Arrive ($150) pledge, and you live in Australia, you will need to select the Invasion reward, but pledge a total of $165.
All backers have the option of tracked courier shipping. This costs $15 on top of any shipping costs above. Therefore, to have their shipment sent by tracked courier, a US backer would pay $15, and a Spanish backer would pay a total of $25.
Courier shipping is mandatory for all backers from Africa or South America, so you must add a total of $30 for shipping if you live in one of these continents.
Reward level credit cannot be used to pay for shipping.

Risks and challenges
Delivering a Kickstarter is the hardest part of the project. We’ve successfully delivered one Kickstarter, are in the process of shipping DreadBall, and we’re about to ship LOKA in early November and Deadzone in late November – all through our dedicated warehouse team. We’ve had to expand our capacity and warehouse team as a result.
Mantic has experience in sculpting, tooling and delivering Kickstarters – something that can be very difficult to get right. Models being too big to fit on tools and overspending is a challenge, but with careful management we’ve experience in handling that.
The other challenge is delays from the manufacturer – something that has meant we’ve gone down to the wire on a number of occasions with sculpting deadlines and delivery to our warehouse. We’ve deliberately added a couple of extra months to our shipping date to cater for this, meaning we can work on checking the quality of everything that comes through.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
When using your credit, you do not need to do anything now to choose your add-ons - you will be sent a survey after the Kickstarter where you can choose what you want for your money.
For any add-ons above the credit that comes with your reward level, simply choose your reward level and then increase the pledge amount by the value of the extra(s) you'd like. For example, a $150 reward + a T-Shirt would mean a total pledge of $175. You can then choose these extras in the survey as well.
Changing your pledge amount can be done using the "Manage my Pledge" button in the top right corner of this page. Just enter the total to cover your base reward level and any extras you like, and then once you submit the page Kickstarter will take you to Amazon to authorise the payment.
You can change your pledge value any time before the end of the project. No payment will be taken until the project is funded on November 10th.
That's absolutely fine! Simply select "No Reward" on the pledge page, and pledge an amount to cover the add-ons that you want at the prices listed. Shipping is charged as listed above on the main page. For example, if you wanted a set of Martian Grunts ($15) and the Attack From Mars set ($20), and you live in France ($10 shipping) you would select No Reward and pledge a total of $45. You will select the exact items you want in the survey after the Kickstarter.
You can select as many as you like - just increase your pledge as appropriate. For example, if you're at the Invaders Arrive reward ($150) and want a second one, just pledge a total of $300 - you can tell us that this is what you want at the end.
If you're at an Early Bird level, then any additional reward levels of the same type will be at the same cost, so if your first one is costing you $143, then the second one will cost the same price!
If appropriate, shipping is to be paid separately for each reward level, as each one needs to be sent as a separate package due to Royal Mail size restrictions. However, if you select the Courier Shipping option we can send multiple levels as one package, and you'll also get it tracked to your door! For example, if you want two copies of the Invaders Arrive reward and you live in New Zealand, you would have to pay the shipping twice for a total of $30. Alternatively, you can pay the shipping once ($15) plus the courier shipping ($15) also for $30 - a much better deal!
All of the Kickstarter rewards will be shipped directly from our warehouse in Nottingham, UK, so all of our EU backers will not have to pay import taxes.
The customs form on your package will be marked with the value of the contents exactly as listed on Kickstarter. For example, if you have pledged at The Invaders Arrive level ($150) and selected no add-ons (other than the ones that come with your free credit), your package will be marked with a value of $150. If you had also selected add-ons to the value of $50 over and above your credit, the package would be marked with a value of $200.
The cost of shipping will not be included in the value marked on the customs form. The package will also be marked as a gift.
Simply message us through Kickstarter using the link at the top of the page, and we'll put you in touch with our trade team who can run through what's available and how to pledge!
The miniatures are in the industry standard 28-30mm scale (distance from base to eye level), and are therefore compatible with the vast majority of other miniatures and scenery on the market. The bases used in the game are again industry standards, being 25mm in diameter.
The scenery tiles are based on a 3" (75mm) grid. Every tile is based on this template, with all accessories conforming to these standards so that the scenery can be assembled in any configuration imaginable.
