An Axe Fit For An Ogre

We're making steady progress on the new sculpts for our Kings of War range as those of you at our Open Day can attest, and sculptor extraordinaire Rémy Tremblay has pretty much finished the fantastic range of Ogres.

The range currently includes 4 different weapon options and 6 different heads, and Rémy is just finishing off the iconic Ogre Hero that kicked off this project all the way back in May. Want to see what he's been up to?

Meanwhile, elsewhere in France, Grégory Clavilier has been hard at work on a couple of our other new units. Can anyone hear howling?

Come on, guys, it's been a month now! We need another fix!

    2. Fennek

I would really like to finally see the ones doing the howling, and I don't mean the Mantic crew realising just how many Dreadball-packages they will have to pack next week!

they look exactly like the concept art - small legs and all! love 'em.

    4. CarstenR on

I must say I second the comments on the (disproportionate) legs and the bandaid.
      Otherwise they look great!

    5. Graham Field on

Top half outstanding, please, please, please change the legs before you mold in plastic

    6. MDSW on

Yes!!! These guys are definitely going in the right direction, but my two cents are:
      1. The legs must be more powerful - currently, they are scaled way too small.
      2. The 'band-aid' looks hilarious and I could accept that, but that does not fit in with the overall theme you have going here. Make it an awesome scar or a metal 'plate' like you have on the others.
      3. It would be OK to have slightly less armour on some of the regular troops, but do not make them naked!

And, as already been said, the head sculpts are truly awesome!!!!!!!!!

    7. rosafari on

PLEASE make the legs the same scale as the upper body!

    8. KevinR

@Fennek -- they're not as advanced as you think: it's an Elmo band-aid...

    9. Fennek

Great looking sculpt, but I'm a bit surprised that band-aids are in use in Mantica, even among ogres as can be seen on the ogre head in the middle of the second row. If Ogre civilization is that advanced, what might we expect from Elves or Dwarfs?

Looks awesome. I can't wait to get all the 6 ogre packs I ordered!!

    11. Rex Wall on

I am a fan of the sculpts and looking forward to getting these bad boys.

Is it just me or does the Ogre hero's proportions look quite a bit off? Seems to be awfully top heavy.

Great head sculpts. Keep up the great work Mantic.

Howling? Does that mean... Werewolves?!?! Aroooo!!

    15. Norb on

Nice. Those look great! I might have to buy in sets of 6 to use all those heads. Can't wait to see what Gregory comes up with? Awoooo!

    16. Andrew Hayford

      These guys are awesome.

They look fantastic, great job Rémy! The heads look amazing!

Absolutely great! The faces and weapons allow the creation of a whole army. I am impatient to receive those brutes.

      Rémy, tes ogres sont mortels!

I am salivating now.... Looking forward to get this beauties
