Wave 2 Shipping Update

Hello! We hope that you all had a great weekend - and a very happy thanksgiving last week!

Work is continuing on fulfilling the Kings of War Kickstarter.

From Wave 1 there were just over 200 orders who did not receive their pledge, in part due to the software having the ability to remove the core pledge from the cart.

Finishing today, these have all been picked. Most were shipped on Friday, with the remainder completing shipping early this week.

There are a few items that continue to be out of stock – Greater Obsidian Golems and Soul Reaver Knights – that are proving troublesome but we are continuing to work with our partners on getting these items back into stock.

The Kings of War Wave 2 dispatch is expected to begin the week starting 14th December. We are doing everything we can to try and get you your Wave 2 items before Christmas.

For the first time in our company’s history, the boat carrying our stock was halted in Chinese customs. All of the containers were removed and searched, and this was a very lengthy process.

Our container included some retail lines like Ogre Warriors, but also our Kickstarter quantities of the Lower Abyssals.

Once they were approved by Chinese customs, we attempted to have them removed from the container and flown over to us, but we were not allowed – the sprues are on a boat and not due to arrive until the New Year.

So, rather than wait for these sprues, they will become our retail stock for 2016 instead. We’ve gone ahead and commissioned the Kickstarter quantities for the Lower Abyssal again, and are having them flown over to us. The soonest we will get them is the 2nd week of December.

The Naiads and the Salamanders are also being air-freighted to us.

On a positive note this gave us one or two extra weeks proofreading, editing and polishing the Kings of War: Destiny of Kings campaign book.

This book includes all the rules you need for running a narrative campaign, an actual narrative campaign called Quest of the Necromancer (including a new adventure for Dungeon Saga), and rules and stats for using some of the Dungeon Saga heroes in your Kings of War armies.

Only a very small group of backers picked up physical copies of the book, but if you want one the book is due out at retail in February alongside the main Forces of the Abyss army release.

Kings of War Wave II Dispatch

As promised, it’s our second update of the week.

We’re gearing up for the second and final Kings of War dispatch, which will begin shipping at the end of November.

Forces of the Abyss

The Force of the Abyss hard plastic sprues are in the warehouse and with metal being cast, we’ve started bagging up the starter and mega starter armies.

All that’s left is for the metal Iffrit and Abyssal Champion to be completed, and the resin Abyssal Fiend to be delivered.

Forces of Nature

The Forces of Nature hard plastics are due to arrive in the middle of November. As soon as they’ve completed tooling we will get test production sprues to show-off, and then we will fly them in to hit our November dispatch date. The metal Druid and Centaur Hero are in casting too.

Here's a new Salamander shot from the forthcoming Uncharted Empires book:

Kings of War Campaign Book

The Kings of War Campaign Book is due to be completed by Alessio Cavatore in early November, and will be printed in the UK for a really quick turnaround time. The Kings of War Campaign Book is THE Campaign supplement for Kings of War, and features all of the rules and guidelines for playing campaigns in Kings of War.

This means that you can play linked games or weekend events, telling your own stories in Mantica.

Also included in the book is a sample Campaign that follows on from the events of Dungeon Saga: The Return of Valandor.

Having summoned the mighty Undead Demon Ba’el, the Necromancer Mortibris leads a combined Undead and Abyssal Force through Mantica, concluding with our Global Event. Stay tuned for more information coming soon.

And finally, the Kings of War app is in user testing and we are looking at releasing that alongside Wave II dispatch.

And with that, you’re bang up to date on all that’s going on.

Don’t forget that we’ve also got Uncharted Empires...

Kings of War: Uncharted Empires

During the development time spent on Kings of War, we’ve also self-funded a new book outside of the Kickstarter we thought you might be interested in called Kings of War: Uncharted Empires.

Kings of War: Uncharted Empires is an army supplement book that explores nine never-before-seen factions in Mantica, each with their own history and background. Each of these armies has a dedicated Force List that allows you to play this army in Kings of War, should you have suitable miniatures to represent a force ;)

The book features nine Force Lists:

1. The League of Rhordia (Neutral human/halfling army)

2. Ratkin (Evil former slave race)

3. The Brotherhood (Good human army, knight/water elemental themed)

4. The Empire of Dust (Evil skeleton army, ancient Empire and ancestors of the Ophidians)

5. Salamanders Armies (Good army of reptilians and others)

6. The Herd (Neutral beastman army of satyrs, centuars, minotaurs etc.)

7. The Varangur (aka The Shattered Clans, Evil humans worshipping an ancient deity)

And two surprise lists (can anyone guess what The Trident Realms of Neritica are? :p)

Get your copy of the book here - and stay tuned next week for NEW Kings of War Reinforcements...

... like these Zombie Trolls!

Here Be Dragons - and the Uncharted Empires!

Hey guys and girls!

We’re really sorry we haven’t had an update these past couple of weeks – we’ll make up for it with two updates this week!

In the next update we’ll share more on the Wave II Kings of War dispatch where the Forces of Abyss, Forces of Nature, the Campaign Book and more will begin shipping.

In this update however, first up: Here Be Dragons!

PREVIEW: Elf Dragon Kindred Lord

PREVIEW: Supreme Iron-caster on Great Winged Abyssal

Both of these kits are based on our 175mm tall PVC plastic Dragon, which features a head with saddle for Kings of War.

The Elf Dragon Lord is a metal rider for the beast, whilst there is a metal Great Winged Abyssal head and rider for the Supreme Iron-caster miniature.

Kings of War: Uncharted Empires

The Kings of War 2 Kickstarter exceeded all expectations, and allowed us to develop a Kings of War campaign book that backers will be getting digitally - and, provided you pledged for it, a softcover physical book too. More on this book soon.

During the development time spent on Kings of War, we’ve also self-funded a new book outside of the Kickstarter we thought you might be interested in called Kings of War: Uncharted Empires.

Written by Matt Gilbert and the Kings of War Rules Committee, Kings of War: Uncharted Empires has had extensive playtesting to make these armies fun, balanced and tournament legal - and we hope that you'll want to add them to your games!

How Do I Get Kings of War: Uncharted Empires?

Backers can now pre-order Kings of War: Uncharted Empires from your friendly local gaming store, or on the Mantic Games Website right now. It will begin shipping in November.

Alongside the standalone book as described above, there is also the enhanced Uncharted Empires Digital Edition from Mantic Digital, with a quick-search glossary and header search for flicking between sections. It works on a range of devices, including Apple, Android, Nook and Kindle, and is kept up to date with FAQs and errata.

Take Kings of War: Uncharted Empires with you wherever you go – pre-order it now and it’ll download to your Mantic Digital account automatically on the 23rd November.

Wave 1 and 2 Dispatch Information

It’s been a few weeks now since Wave I of the Kings of War Kickstarter was dispatched and enough time has passed for everything to make it’s way through the postal system.

If you have not yet received your shipment, or if there’s something missing from your pledge*, please fill in the Missing Items form here. Please do not rely on the comments to tell us, please fill out the form.

BUT BEFORE YOU DO...

* NOTE 1 – Some items were out of stock and were listed as To Follow on your picking sheet/order form included in the box. If the item you are missing is marked as To Follow please DO NOT fill out the missing item form. We have a list of people who have been affected and will ship these out the moment they are back in stock.

* NOTE 2 - Before submitting a form before, please check on Kings of War Mission Control that the item you are missing is a WAVE 1 item. Please DO NOT fill out the form if you are missing a WAVE 2 item.

We are getting a lot of forms in for missing Forces of the Abyss and Forces of Nature armies which are WAVE 2, which are not scheduled to ship until November.

* NOTE 3 - Please do not submit a missing items form for the Kings of War Map of Mantica. It was replaced with the Kings of War Art Print but unfortuantely left on the picking list as Map of Mantica. If you have an Art Print please DO NOT fill in the form.

Thanks.

Next up, an update of progress of Wave 2.

App Attack

Progress on the Kings of War Army Builder and Chess Clock App is continuing nicely, and I actually have the first build of the App in my inbox to check out.

Work will continue on the App and we hope to release it before the Wave II Kickstarter dispatch.

Speaking of which...

WAVE 2 Kickstarter Dispatch

We are now gearing up for the Wave 2 Kickstarter Dispatch, will begin in November. The exact date depends on when we receive the final sprues from our manufacturer.

The Abyssal Succubi sprues and the plastic Dragons are already in the warehouse, and the Lower Abyssals are on a boat to us. That just leaves the campaign character pack (Ba’el and Valandor), Naiads and the Salamanders to come.

The remaining miniatures are all either metal or resin, and are being moulded and cast as we speak.

Finally, Alessio is writing the Kings of War Campaign Book.

These are currently all still on track for November dispatch, and as soon as we get new pictures we will share them with you.

And finally…

We are approximately half way through the Warpath Kickstarter.

Just like Kings of War, Warpath is a gaming system that is fast, easy to learn and deeply strategic.

Set in a science fiction universe, there are two sets of rules for Warpath. Which you choose depends on your style of play – you may prefer one over the other, or link both sets together in a campaign. The choice is yours!

Warpath: Firefight is the squad-level battle game where every soldier matters. With an emphasis on cinematic battles between as few as 20 soldiers a side, the game is designed to zoom in on the action, with a focus on dynamic, tactical games, whilst retaining Mantic’s game design philosophy of being easy to learn and fast paced. Ideal if you are looking for an alternative to other games on the market. Read more here.

Warpath is the mass-combat strategy game that allows you to play massive sci-fi battles on the tabletop, quickly and affordably. Using Warpath’s innovative Orders system, you’ll command an army of infantry, elite specialists and hi-tech vehicles, in a dynamic game of strategy and tactics. Find out more on our blog.

We are offering a great deal to get involved with Warpath.

Just like with Kings of War, you can pledge for just the rulebooks to get the game, and play with an army you already own.

Or, you can pick the Advanced Warfare pledge, which comes with a free choice of hard plastic vehicle and a pick of Battlegroup (somewhere between a starter army and mega army in size and value.) or Two Player Starter Set.

If you are interested please pop over to the Warpath Kickstarter and grab yourself a deal. If not, thanks for reading anyway!

These are all of the returns we've had...

- Out of stock! Some pledges were part-shipped with a few items to follow. These items are expected to be back in stock soon and then we’ll complete the fulfillment of these pledges.

Where’s my order/I’m missing an item

Now that everything is in the post, we ask that you wait until the 30th September before getting in touch to enquire about the status of your pledge rewards. This will give everything time to arrive.
