The Walking Dead miniatures game

Hello! In case you haven’t seen we are running a new project for The Walking Dead: All Out War miniatures game. We thought we’d let you know in case you wanted to join us on another Kickstarter journey!

What is the Walker Dead miniatures game?

The Walking Dead: All Out War is the ultimate survival miniatures game. The characters, taken straight from the pages of The Walking Dead comic series, are pitted against each other in a bitter fight for supplies. You will lead a group of survivors, in a skirmish setting, trying to acquire precious loot…but beware the Walkers will react to your every move, and other groups want the same loot as you – and they do anything to get it!

We’ve launched The Walking Dead: All Out War miniatures game on Kickstarter to offer our hard core fans the chance to get cool exclusives and the opportunity to get the game ahead of the full retail launch in October.

The main pledge level – Something to Fear – is already worth over $175 at MSRP with more being added all the time. It includes:

  • The Walking Dead: All Out War miniatures game
  • The Walking Dead: Atlanta Camp expansion
  • Kickstarter Exclusive Sheriff’s Badge Initiative Badge
  • Collector’s Edition Box
  • Dice Bag and a second set of game
  • Stretch Rewards including Shane, Lori, Andrea, Amy, Reggie, plus their character cards, 2 Atlanta Walkers and 10 Supply Markers.
  • And more to come including 2 new unique Walkers and a Kickstarter Exclusive Michonne!

You can see everything included in Something to Fear here.

The more people who support the campaign, the more survivors like Glenn, Maggie and Tyreese, equipment and unique walkers will get added – making that basic pledge level even better value.

The Walking Dead: All Out War is on Kickstarter until midnight Monday 29th February. Thank you for your support.

Mantic May Open Day

The Mantic Open Day is back!

Based at our Nottingham UK HQ on the 16th May we will open the doors to all our Mantic fans for an epic day of gaming and fun!

The open day will be rammed full of awesome demo games of every Mantic system including the beta version of Kings of War 2. As always you’ll get the opportunity to see behind the scenes and even enjoy one of Ronnie’s famous seminars!

Not only that, but the Mantic team will be there to answer all your questions. Sit down and have a chat with the Mantic studio painter to see how he achieves all the great paint schemes you see in our photography or have a chat with the studio manager about how we come up with the concept of everything we create.

So what exactly do we have going on for DreadBall?

Well with the success of the DreadBall regionals we are using the same rules pack to host a tournament at the open day! Come down and get some tournament practice in before you regional to make sure the Blaine trophy will be yours. You can get your DreadBall tournament ticket from our website here.

If you have picked up any of Mantics games but aren’t too sure how to play them, the open day is a great way to take advantage of our experts, the Pathfinders, who will give you a mind blowing intro game and get you fully up to speed so that you can play your own games at home or at your local club.

Tickets to the Open Day are only £4.99 per person, or pick up a family/group ticket for 4 people at £14.99. We have parking onsite and you will even get the legendary Mantic open day goodie bag worth more than the price of your ticket completely free of charge!

DreadBall Xtreme Boxed Game Mock-up

Here’s a recap:

Season 5 Teams and MVPs – Unlocked!

The Brokkrs, Rebs, Sphyr and Crystallans are all unlocked. Like the Season 4 teams, they can be used in “Original” DreadBall as well:

All teams - except the Plague Mutants and Robots - come preassembled for you. Crystallan Team comes in translucent blue plastic.

New Giants!

The Sann-Gar, Forge Father Iron Ancestor are all ready to join in the fun!

New! Galactic Tour Series: DreadBall Challenge Cup!

Designed for both Original DreadBall and DreadBall Xtreme, the DreadBall Challenge Cup is a whole new way of playing leagues in DreadBall!

For the first time, you’ll be able to travel the stars and play games of DreadBall as part of a linked campaign. Teams will visit a series of unique locations across this region of space before engaging the opposition in the Galaxy's Greatest Sport – win and you claim the territory.

In a similar fashion to the Azure Forest pack, this set takes DreadBall in all kinds of fun directions as each location introduces new rules and abilities – whether it’s automated robot attacks in the Llo desert to radiation pulses that boost your players abilities on Visvera (or cripple them!)

As well as a Rulebook, a printed Hazard System Map, cards, and counters, the set also comes with four incredible MVPs (which are also available individually if you want them) – arguably the most exciting yet.

And finally...

The Kickstarter is truly packed full of an amazing amount of stuff and our Sweet Spot Rampage pledge is an unbelievable deal. Bursting with teams, MVPs and all sorts of digital goodness, Rampage is worth well over $350 at retail.

As a result of a promotion, we’ve got 25 Early Bird Rampages currently available so if you want to get it at an even greater discount, now is your chance!

We're nearly half way to our next stretch goal, and we're now under 150 backers away from unlocking our next Kickstarter Exclusive Backer Goal: an Xtreme Cheerleader Turn Counter! Free in pledges of Rage ($100) and up!

Thank you so much for reading and we hope that you'll join us for a new Kickstarter journey. We really do appreciate any support you can give us - and we hope what we're offering in return shows our appreciation :)

Season 4 comes to Kickstarter!

DreadBall is about to get a whole lot bigger with the Season 4 Rulebook and 4 new teams.

Work in progress cover - Kovossian Mutants versus Mechanites!

Well you all knew this was coming, right ;)

We always wanted to bring Dreadball back to kickstarter - to add more teams and more fun - but just a few teams didn't seem, well - Mantic enough!!

So we now have Dreadball Xtreme – the underground version of Dreadball. I think the last few days has introduced us all to what THAT means.

But what are we doing now, and what does this kickstarter mean for DreadBall itself?

Well because all the miniatures work for both Xtreme and DreadBall Original we thought long and hard about the best way to present this. We decided that was a separate game and an expansion for Xtreme - and then separately and under the DreadBall banner more Season books for DreadBall Original.

The Season books will focus on the rules for the 4 new teams from the kickstarter and how they play in DreadBall Original. As always with Season books it will also add some other rules for the game. This means ALL the rules for Xtreme (for original and new team stats) will be covered in the Xtreme game and expansion.

We think this will give the clearest and cleanest split between the two games, and allow Dreadball to continue to go from strength to strength as new teams get added, and allow Xtreme to be a game in its own right.

It also means that this kickstarter just became DreadBall 2 – as all the new teams get rules and add into the basic game!!

So, if you want to add to your original game you can just add on the book and whichever of the new teams that you want!

So, what can you look forward to in Season 4...

Featuring rules for customizable teams, DreadBall Season 4 adds to the original game with the addition of stats, rules and background for the four new teams, expanding the original 12 teams to 16 with the addition of:

- The Convict Team!

The crowd love a good "bad-boy-come-good" story and with the Convicts they are no different. Everyone wants to see the underdogs do well - or have their faces slammed into the neodurium. For entertainment purposes, obviously.

- The Asterian Kalyshi Team!

"Real" Asterians or pretend wannabes? These ladies are quick, nimble and are sure to get hearts racing.

- Kovossian Mutants Plague Team!

These bogiemen don't really exist, do they? Of course not - these mutants are just make-believe, particularly as Zombies are all the rage with the latest series of ACKNET's "BRAINZZZZ," airing every week at 8 on CorpNetwork.

- The Mechanites!

The DGB's annual TekFest competition always attracts the brightest (and weirdest) minds the GCPS can produce, and the winners are invited to showcase their latest creations on the pitches of the Galaxy's Greatest Sport. They're not quite sure the wrecking balls meet guidelines, but the crowd seem to like them.

In addition, there will be rules for bionics and mutations, highlighted by the changeable Plague and Robot teams. Both of these teams contain a range of components that you can use to customize your figures with new abilities, including a selection of arms, heads and torsos…

And there’s more – the book will also contain rules, stats and background for introducing a brand new crop of MVPs to DreadBall!

- “Brickbat” Vognar (those of you who have Yurik will remember that Vognar is his nemesis!), Convict MVP

- Kailasa, Asterian Kalyshi MVP

- “Deadman” Davitz, Mutant MVP

- Asylum, Insane MVP

- and surely more to come ;)

The DreadBall Season 4 Rulebook is our next stretch goal over on the DreadBall Xtreme Kickstarter once the Mechanites are locked in, but you can get it now with our new REFEREE Pledge Level.

For $15 we’ll send you a physical soft cover version of the book (includes shipping to the US and UK) and a digital PDF copy of the rulebook. Alternatively you can add it on to one of our existing pledges levels for just $10!

We’re not done with original DreadBall by any means – we will keep bringing out new teams and new MVPs to support the game as the total builds, as well as take it in new and interesting ways.

So please pop on over to the DreadBall Xtreme Kickstarter and check out what’s on offer – if you pledge now you will help us unlock the Mechanite Robot Team and the Season 4 book.

We would really appreciate that help - and if you haven’t pledged on Xtreme yet – we’d love to have you aboard another Mantic/Dreadball kickstarter! We recommend Rampage!

Thanks for reading!
