Second Survey and more!

Update in short: Second survey is coming before the end of January and we are resending your order confirmation – please don’t delete it!

Also: shipment 2 is coming this year, the deadline for letting us know about your missing bits is the 31st January and we will be reviewing them after this date, we’re still catching up on messages, and we will have a progress update on sculpts in the next update, along with the survey.

Happy New Year Deadzoners!

We hope that you’ve all received shipment 1 of your Deadzone in good order and are excited to be getting part 2 later this year, which will bring with it the Asterians, Forge Fathers, Nexus Psi book, solo play and more.

It’s going to be an exciting couple of months!

Missing Bits Survey

If you got your package for Christmas or have received it and not opened it yet (and if not, why not?!) you’ve got until the 31st January to fill out the missing bits survey and let us know if there’s anything missing:

http://bit.ly/1dyMkWa

Once this deadline has passed we will:

- Close the survey

- Correlate your enquiry against your order

- Order Stock

- Wait for stock to arrive

- Work out an efficient shipping method.

We want to do this is an organized, professional manner, and the shipping date will depend on the volume of entries.

Remember, you’ve got until the 31st January to fill it out!

Messages

We’re still catching up on messages here in the office, including ones submitted before Christmas.

We’re getting some similar questions so here is a mini-FAQ answering a few of them:

Q) I haven’t received my AI Deck / Solo Play Rules / Compendium / Zombies / Peacekeepers / Named hero model (Howlett/Kish)/etc.) etc etc.

A) These items are second shipment and will be shipped Q2 2014.

Q) Should I have got Mercenary stat cards?

A) Physical mercenary cards will be sent out second shipment – digital copies were dispatched via Wargame Vault. Check your Kickstarter inbox for the link!

Q) The value on my packing list is lower than the amount I pledged for and there are items missing on the list.

A) The packing list only contains the value and items that are first shipment – the rest will be included on your second shipment packing list.

Deadzone Second Survey

The Deadzone Second Survey is coming in January!

This will be your final chance to pick models, scenery and accessories up at Kickstarter prices from the Deadzone Kickstarter, and should feature a couple of new items too – and yes, there will be individual connector sprues too!

In preparation for this survey coming out, we will be sending your order confirmations again sometime in the next week or so, so you can see what you picked on the first survey.

Please do not message us and ask for this, and please do not delete it – we will not be sending them out again :)

Look out for that coming before the end of the month!

And finally…

As part of the update that accompanies the second survey we will also be providing a progress update on everything that’s going on, including the latest shots of the Asterians and Forge Fathers, and an update of Zombies, Enforcers and Peacekeepers.

Teasey Tease Tease

Look out for this update coming soon – it’s promising to be chunky!

No, the email said it will be sent next week, what you should have got is a reminder email of what you have already ordered.

Have any if you received the second survey mail yet? This update tells it should have been sent by now but I didn"t get it :( I hope i get it before the 31st deadline.

@Cameron W - Yes...Wrath live up to his name doesn't he. I actually got him looking ..ok after a long time getting very frustrated. Apart from his sword. Which when painted will look like it's attached by friction to his cloak.

On the flipside I found the easiest models to put together, and the ones I liked the least during the KS but like the most now, are the Plague and Mauraders.

Well except for that half inch gap between hand and wrist on the Maurader....which is now just greenstuffed (I didn't know you could put hotwater on and bend it...but it's seriously out either way.

i got an auto reply the next day i sent it in, i musta gotten lucky there, but no actual human reply though.
and i do agree about some of the models that they just dont fit right with any of there parts without having the gaps.
overall it does need some work but for this price kinda hard not to go with it.

    5. Cameron W. on January 20, 2014

Wrath is near impossible to put together. Eventually I just said "f*ck it" and glued his parts on, whether they fit or not. Now his cape is defying physics and he looks like a noodle with arms. Also, I didn't realize how hilarious the Sorak looked until I put it together XD Still, it's really good for a trooper, so I'll probably buy an extra. On another note, Enforcers suck, so I'll be buying their faction booster to give them some more power. Just saying...

    6. Kosongz on January 20, 2014

I got an auto-reply, does that count?

Strike team pledge. Everything arrived and as previously said it only took 2 hours to check everything against update 124\125. Only had 1 miscast and 3 damaged components. Given how much bulk was in the shipment (and how long its going to take me to paint it all up) waiting until wave 2 for the replacements is not that big a deal.

Sent them an email prior to new year and they got back to me within 3 days. With 4000+ orders on top of day to day work I'm willing to cut them some slack until after wave 2 ships (KS core policy is delivery within one year of the pledge).

    10. Cozmo on January 15, 2014

this is shaping up just like the KOW Kickstarter issues...they'll just disappear and ignore the problems, and comments, and emails, till it "goes away" :(

    11. Tony Hopkins on January 14, 2014

Yeah, it's a shame. I would imagine that in hindsight Mantic might be wishing they'd separated the missing items news and the new items news into two separate mini updates which might have helped prevent the excitement being overshadowed. As it is, anyone reading these comments is going to get a pretty bad impression of this KS... Mantic haven't even been on here to respond to the comments, which they did almost religiously throughout and after the campaign soon after each of the updates. I can only imagine they're really getting stuck into the private messages at the moment.

Again, I'm absolutely not knocking anyone for airing their views.

Sadly - It is hard to get excited about new stuff and think about investing further when the first set of stuff you paid for hasn't turned up .......

In contrast I got all of my Dreadball KS stuff with no problems.

    13. Tony Hopkins on January 14, 2014

I'm a first time customer.I got my stuff before new years. Thanks Mantic! Have to double check if anything is missing but I have to say... you guys need to seriously change your plastic for your miniatures. It's bloody awful as far as quality is concerned. I think it's the same quality as the one used for making plastic toy soldiers. Cannot use plastic glue on the minis only super-glue and some of the enforcers (the ones that were already released for warpath - you know what I'm talking about) will need green stuff work in order to fill the gaps between the arms and torsos because of the bad fitting.

    15. DA SILVA Marc-olivier on January 14, 2014

Put me on the unsatisfied customers list too. I'm an Assault team backer, but I only received one Strike team pledge, and a part of the add-on is missing???? Where is the other half of my order...

ian james on January 14, 2014

      @Mantic

Sorry guys, but I'm gonna have to join the list of unsatisfied customers here.

I picked up my Strike Team package at your Open Day on 30th November. I filled out the query form that night to inform you I was missing the Enforcer and Plague starter sets (amongst a few other bits). I submitted it thinking that a fortnight was ample time for you to sort out and deliver my missing items.

Now, over 6 weeks since I sent the query form, you say you aren't even going to look at it for another 2 weeks? And then when you do, you might not have any left, as you've been selling these items seperately?

Sorry Mantic, that's simply not good enough. I really enjoy what I have of the game so far and want to support and endorse you as a company, but service like this makes that really hard to do. I'm sure there are many of us on here who would appreciate a response.

    17. JM Fernandez on January 14, 2014

I haven't even received my first package yet, if I don't get it by the 31st, I will enter it as all bits missing.

    18. David Lee Seymour on January 13, 2014

It only takes an hour or so to go through an entire strikeforce set one bag at a time, piece by piece using updates 124/125 and your packing slip as a reference. Late January is PLENTY of time.

    19. J. H. Kirkham on January 13, 2014

@ Mantic. Since the 2nd survey is coming soon, have you decided if the hard plastic is going to be doable? I'd love to see some examples of the Enforcers and Zombies.

    20. Tony Hopkins on January 13, 2014

      +1 to vehicle multi-buy

      (does that count? :D)

    21. Tony Hopkins on January 13, 2014

@JAYME - right on! It's a shame there's quite a few backers with unresolved wave 1 issues (and I'm not knocking them at all) because it's overshadowing the buzz of impending news about two new factions and what sounds like a couple of surprises too. Can't wait to see the hard plastics too.

    22. Tony Hopkins on January 13, 2014

@MANTIC - How about a deal on buying a light vehicle for all of the 6 factions? All 6 for $90ish?So far it's been the best value deals which have motivated me, especially the bundles and multi-buys which have been the main reason for pushing my pledge from a medium scenery deal to over $750... :) Spend to save, and all that ;)

      @Mantic:

I am a little lost between the initial shipment, and the secondary shipment that is coming. I already saw that the packing slip that arrived does not represent the entire order total, only the items contained within.

My big concern is: you have given us a deadline of January 31st to report any missing items. I am still going through the bags and trying to determine exactly what I actually have. Is it possible to delay the confirmation of any lost or missing items until we receive the second shipment (with the understanding that obviously we would have to wait for missing pieces until after the second packages are sent)? I want to send a single, 'full' list, rather than risk obfuscating things by having multiple email.

      Please confirm.

A question... If your in the US and have received nothing as of yet should you be asking where the shipment is because that is where I'm at and what I have gotten.....

    25. Missing avatar

Andrew Parsons on January 12, 2014

Surely it would be better to get all of the first shipment sorted out before adding extra pressure into a system clearly already under stress by "loading it up" with a second?

I had two whole scenery sets missing from my order and clearly many others have had whole blocks of components missing, not just the odd area/leg/figure or whatever.

The shipping list that came with my box even had the bits actually in it ticked off in pen - no ticks next to the parts that ended up being missing. So the picker/packer clearly knew they hadn't put stuff in.

@ Bobby - The problem is even bigger than that. Mantic should have known exactly how much product they needed to fulfill the kickstarter. Do they not bother to read the data they receive from the pledge manager? The pledge manager should tell them exactly what they need to order. From there, they can make a calculation for errors and broken pieces and order extra. I understand this kickstarter had a large number of pledges, but that is no excuse. What makes it worse, is Mantic repeats their poor business practices over and over again. While more people seem to be agitated over the deadzone issues than in other Mantic kickstarters, many people still let it roll off their shoulders and forgive Mantic. While I appreciate the group of people that are devoted to Mantic and the type of people that do not get upset over these type of issue, it only reinforces Mantic's bad business practices. What makes it worse, is Mantic is radio silent like always. Should we take bets on how many people get shorted on the second shipment?

    27. Missing avatar

      David on January 12, 2014

If so many people are missing bits, where are the bits? Surely if they were all originally ordered and they didn't get sent out they'll still be sitting in the wharehouse somewhere?

    28. Bobby4th on January 12, 2014

The more I think about this, the more irritated I am. Everything I listed on the forms when I filled them out are MISSING. That means they were mis-packed bags (1) or things which weren't sent -- 40 mm bases, one missing Rebs baggie, one missing extra Enforcer Missile Launcher, and maybe a missing scenery sprue or two. I can't believe that Mantic didn't plan for certain amount of errors in packing, that or once again they rushed to get something out on time and decided getting it right was secondary.

    29. Berger on January 11, 2014

A little disappointing that I am going to have to wait so long to get the entire enforcers and plague factions for my game. I got all the rebs and Marauders, so I'm better off than some I suppose. I also had a separate order that I had a piece missing from, logged on 12th December but I've heard nothing on that one. I hope this is not the start of a decline in customer service from Mantic - who have always been so quick in the past to rectify issues.

    30. Missing avatar

Tom Snider on January 11, 2014

@Mike - They're doing the missing/damaged shipment first. The opportunity to report those issues ends at the end of the month. The opportunity to order stuff for the second shipment STARTS later this month. Of all the completely legitimate things to be upset at Mantic for, the order of their shipments isn't one.

Really?? there are people in my local area who are missing half their original package, damaged scenery and whole starter sets of the races missing?? You really can't be arsed to sort out the problems with the initial shipment before rushing out the next?? Glad to see the Mantic focus on great customer service is alive and well....or dead at the bottom of a grave depending on your definition of the word great.

    32. cedric Gras on January 11, 2014

@Mantic: Why waiting so long for the missing part...
I'm on a suppression team (3 boxed game) with friends and only get one box....
We were happy to get this before christmas, but now we are very disappointed...

Was also hoping the next survey would be a little farther out (I would be buying more if it were). I suppose the up side is the next shipment won't be delayed by it (would actually rather have the time to build up funds but getting more sooner is good too).

    34. Oz Gamer Guy on January 10, 2014

For those of us who still have not received our first shipment, or any tracking information, do we complete the "missing bits survey" and note that we have not received anything at all???

I wouldnt mind to wait for my missing parts another two months or so if only some minor things were missing. But I am missing one complete strike team pledge (I am an assault team backer and got only one ST)! I really dont like to read that I have to wait a long time after January for this! You should make sure, that such big glitches get fixed asap, that would be a professional manner. Send you my survey on 13. December.

@Cozmo - Some people have randomly got theirs, others have been pawned off to another broker by FedEx. I've been told by FedEx that customs just don't trust Mantic at this point, and won't even deal with customers trying to clear it themselves. I've pretty much been forced into getting a full value invoice from Mantic, so I'll be paying full taxes, plus whatever fee FedEx decides to charge me.

      Ryan on January 10, 2014

It isn't mentioned so I wanted to ask before the missing bits survey end date. The update doesn't mention the corrected Enforcers being sent out? I could have sworn there was an update stating we don't have all the correct Enforcers due to some issue (sorry I have to be honest it can get confusing with kickstarters sometimes keeping up, not an issue unique to Mantic it is pretty much all large kickstarters). If I misunderstood this issue than I think I am actually missing Enforcers and will need to send in a request.
      Thanks in advance.

@ Bobby - The way I read the post is that they will not even look at the missing part forms until January 31st. Then they will look at your order to confirm you should have those missing parts. Then they will order the missing parts from their production company. Then they will ship them. I am guessing it will be April until we get our missing parts.

@ Mantic - you guys continue to amaze me as to how poor of a company you really are. Just when I think you may have learned a lesson or two between the Dreadball kickstarter and this one, you clearly haven't.
