Risks and challenges
Dear Good people, I am a Christian soldier and what I have done here is in obedience to Christ. 50% of all money generated from all future sale's of Carry Canoe and related product's will be used to the glory of God. 10% just don't seem enough ! I hope you will always keep me accountable ! Our first mission after we are established, will be to help support a small church in the central mountains in Taiwan that needs revamped and a full time pastor. My wife Betty is from Taiwan and while we were on our last vacation there, we went looking for one of the biggest trees in Taiwan ! While we were looking for these trees ,we found a church in a small indigenous community at the trail's head leading to this grove of gigantic trees. I was surprised and happy to find it there, and then sad to see it's condition , We couldn't find a pastor any where! We also found out the pastor that did preach there, came around to preach only once every month or so , but no one there could remember when they say him last !. God had planted a seed in me years ago through my son. I wasn't saved at the time and had the wrong mindset to work for God then! I was saved in Feb 1995 now I truly feel that this is my mission from God too me! I can only do my part, too the best of my ability, But I can't do this alone ! I am asking you to help me in this time of need . Please pray about it ! Help if you can! Pray if can't . We need both, for I have no doubt that God will bless you for it !
When I first designed this watercraft it was to be a rotational molded product , (It still will be produced in this way.) but I had to make the prototype by vacuum forming. Mostly because of limited resources, funding and the cost of tooling. I have worked on this projects prototype for a number of years. I am partially disabled from a head on truck and motorcycle , (I was on the bike.) accident I had at the age of 21 , just 6-months after I got out of the Marines. so it all has been a wonderfully long and painful challenge for me.
Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Cost, weight and strength of material, limits of size and dimension, form, functionality and feasibility were some of the factors considered to produce a structurally safe and sound full scale working prototype close enough to the finished product that it would answer all the unknown questions. We had to build a boat to design a boat. Our final boat design is a double walled, foam filled, monolithic structure of tremendous strength and versatility. The wall skin takes up over half of the weight of the structure and can be made of recycled High Density Polyethylene Plastic. Foam filled with expanded polyethylene for flotation even if capsized or punctured. Rotational molded to be an unsinkable, seamless, super strong monolithic structure
I have enough material to produce several books, (Which are planned, I have 7 chapters written for the first book to date! ) I believe it will be a great asset in our marketing campaign for our first line of products. My book is called; "A Seed Planted!" (subtitled) :An Idea Left In The Closet Can Easily Die There!" Now It goes without saying that the last chapter will be about You and the part that you played with Kickstarter and I.
The day we reach our funding goal, We would put things in high gear!, and would call our manufacturing partner and get the ball rolling. We already have gotten bids on tooling (Which would take up the largest portion of our funding goal!) and manufacturing from several different companies. We will be working with a well established rotational molding plastic company Called " The Plastic Professionals Inc." Located in Atlantic Iowa. With their professional ability to produce the tooling needed and the ability too also produce a consistent quality product time after time, we could be in production within just a few month's.
Their are always unforeseen risks in any venture and we will try to the best of our ability to keep them to a minimum and tackle them head on as they arise.
Please look at my Face book page to see how I got to this point of development. As you can see, we are not done yet, but we are well on our way.
One man can do but little by himself! With all your help, we can accomplish anything. With 10 different focus market groups, we still have a lot of potential products to design. We have done all of the research and development needed to start the production mold. Our prototype has told us all the answer's we needed to know to be able to build one of the most unique watercraft ever conceived.
We have gone as far as we can go without you. Now is the time to help make a difference and be apart of something great. I plan on using this project as a stepping stone for much more.
Since my conception of " Carry Canoe" my attitude and goals have changed on what my part is in the big picture of things concerning this project.
Even though I have spent years in study and preparation to develop this concept , I've concluded that I am just one part of the equation and that this is more about being a part of something good as a collective whole. I'm truly grateful to be a part of something bigger than myself, I hope you see as well as I, how important the part is that you play and feel the joy that I have felt through the years of a job well done. My reward has already been given! So join me and be apart of something extraordinary !
An Idea Left In The Closet Can Easily Die There!"
God picked me first through conviction and then by faith. I have done the best I could for what I have done, through limited skills and experience. Mostly being carried by God through it all and amazed at what he has made with these crippled and undeserving hands.
