What We're Doing: We're putting on a show! "Games To Play While Driving" was selected from A LOT of other entries for the Manhattan Repretory Theatre's Spring Playfest. (Click to see their website!)
We will be running for three performance April 18th, 20th and 21st in the FANTASTIC location just off Times Square on 42nd Street with an option for more performances if the show does well.
What the Show Is: "Games To Play While Driving" is an exploration of the dark side of imagination. Brought on by the boredom of a never-ending car-ride, two girls try to amuse themselves with various games, toys, but ultimately must turn to their imagination to pass the time. But what happens when the only things you can think of end...badly. Are you even imagining at all?
"Games To Play While Driving" contains NO nudity or mature language.
Where Your Money Will Go: So, there is a 300$ Deposit which was paid Out-Of-Pocket by the Playwright/Producer. If enough people do not attend the show in NYC, we lose the deposit - which is understandable. But 300$ is going to covering our bases. This is also a great way for those of you who aren't going to able to come to NYC to support the show (and us) in a big way!
What the funding is actually for is BUYING PROPS and PAYING PEOPLE. One of the very sad things about theatre is that it becomes a financial strain for artists to even practice their art - the thing that feeds them. We hope to a) buy the props needed to create the show onstage and b) pay the actors, designers and tech personal who have taken the time to become a part of this show.
