About this project
After the cold war, boom years and then great recession, new superpowers emerge to contest the old...
Six superpowers battle for global supremacy in this tense yet simple game of nuclear brinksmanship.Players compete in international trade for vital resources:minerals, oil and grain.Speculate and trade commodities on the world market.A strong economy fuels the arms race as you build armies, navies, nukes and a ‘star-wars’ defense system.Borrow money from the world bank or invest in bonds to increase your income.Don’t borrow too much or the crushing interest will bankrupt you!
As conflicts and nuclear arsenals grow, the world becomes a much more dangerous place.A nuclear strike may vanquish an enemy but will the retaliation trigger a nuclear winter destroying the world? To win, you will need a delicate balance of diplomacy, economic and military strength. You must form alliances, negotiate, threaten and bluff. Many strategies can lead to victory but only one superpower will achieve SUPREMACY.
This complete re-design of the classic cold war game has an updated map, currency and countries for the 21st century! We have corrected and streamlined the rules to make the game faster, simpler and more intense.
Players:United States, Commonwealth, European Union, Russian Federation, China and Japan.
Includes:map, deck of 95 cards, 8 dice, rules, money, 2 reference cards, 2 reference maps, 6 supply bases and 380 plastic game pieces.
Scale:Army / Grand Strategic-Global
Complexity:Simple / Medium
What’s new in this version?
-Updated to fit the times. All new map redesigned for accuracy and playability. Africa and S. America are minor neutral countries. New superpowers: Japan and the Commonwealth:England, Canada, India and Australia.
-All new deck!Cards and resources more accurately reflect real world production. They also create more conflicts.
-Fast! The action starts quick and is intense. Temperatures heat up on the very first turn.Major wars often start on turn 2.Games are often over by game turn 3-4. (each player moves in a game turn)
-Yes, the Market is fixed!Simple and effective.
Ok but how does it work?
Players buy company cards from the deck. These company cards produce critical resources:Oil, Minerals or Grain. You need Oil to move navies.Grain to move armies.Minerals to produce strategic forces:nukes. You need all 3 to build and attack.
Don’t make enough Oil?You can trade your resources on the world market.Buy low and sell high to make trillions. As you sell, the market price falls. As you buy, it goes up.Dominate the production of a resource and you can control what the world pays for it.
Your company cards will be scattered around the globe, so you will need Armies to defend them.Navies can transport your forces overseas and blockade enemy production.Large conventional forces are powerful but require large salaries which slowly strangle your economy.
Strategic forces (ICBMs & ABMs) don’t require salaries but they are expensive to research and build. They are an awesome threat but what if your bluff is called? Can you really fight a nuclear war and win?
Sound complicated? It’s not. It’s surprisingly simple. The complexity is in the strategy not the rules. Almost anyone can play it.
Note:All our pledges are individual items.-They do not include all the things listed above in a package. So, you are free to pick only the individual items you want.Check out our web page for more details on the shirts etc: http://www.commandpostgames.com
What are the real game pieces going to be like?
We are showing pieces from the original game used in our prototype. The actual pieces will be square and oblong blocks similar to the original. We are planning to make them slightly bigger and in the new colors to match the game board.
As an expansion, you can order a replacement set of miniature pieces. These will be aircraft carriers and M1 tanks, very similar to Axis & Allies pieces.
We will post pictures on our website and update you as soon as we get them.
What will real hats and shirts look like?
Note, we have superimposed our graphics over photos of shirts & hats to help you visualize what these will look like. These are not the actual products. The shirts will be screened in gold or optional silver. The hats will be embroidered in gold.
Again, we will post pictures on our website and update you as soon as we get them.

Risks and challenges
What exactly is the project?
Our project is to bring back this classic board game. 250,000 Supremacy fans have been patiently waiting since 1984 for a new release. We have updated the map and players to fit the times, re-written the rules and have worked up new graphics in this all new version of our favorite game.
What are we raising funds to do?
The development is complete. Kickstarter will bring us the volume we need to take this to the printer and make it all possible.
When will it be done?
It is notoriously difficult to judge production times. There are many suppliers and shipping links in this chain. There are many things that can go wrong. We do have an experienced Production Manager lined up to help us ride herd on all the suppliers. We expect to have it out in 4-6 months. We can’t promise what suppliers and shipping will do. We can promise to keep you posted on our current progress every step of the way.
