About this project
Bitcoin is the first cyptocurrency to ever exist and arguably the most consequential discovery of the 2000's. It has gone from academia to the criminal underground in the blink of an eye and shows very little signs of stagnation. My plan is to take this tremendous moment in history and record it. I will be interviewing prominent figures from the first Mining Pools to Politicians who are currently lobbying Bitcoin as well as legitimate Businesses intimately involved with Bitcoin and people who use Bitcoin for criminal purposes. We need documentation on this amazing discovery as well as first hand accounts.
Bitcoin: The Past, Present, And Future
The Book “Bitcoin: The Past, Present, and Future” is separated into 3 parts. The first section tells the history of Bitcoin with accounts from the first miners to the Beginnings of the Current Exchanges and everything else in-between. The second part has a summary of the current Bitcoin exchanges, public Bitcoin acceptance, and laws relating to Bitcoin with interviews from the current largest exchanges and politicians lobbying for or against Bitcoin. The book concludes with a few possibilities for the future of Bitcoin.
Bitcoin Foundation, MTGOX, Coinbase, WikiLeaks, Reddit, Jared Polis, Joe Manchin, The US Treasury, The Security Exchange Commission, The FBI, Local Law Enforcement, A SilkRoad 1.0 Member/Seller, A SilkRoad 2.0 Member/Seller, RoboCoin, Small Businesses Accepting Bitcoin, (and tons more)
I will be self publishing with Lulu. The first 300 copies (250 softcover, 50 hardcover) will be $2,500. I would like to hire a student to design the cover and a couple images in the book($200) and pay a professional to edit it ($300).
When Will You Receive it:
I am hoping to finish getting the last quotations during this summer, insert those into the narrative and have a final draft by the end of August. The ebook will be published and sent in September, and the soft/hardcover editions will be sent out in November.
Risks and challenges
The largest hurdle I have encountered so far has been finding people willing to speak about sensitive chapters (Law Enforcement, Politicians), but i believe that with the Kickstarter community behind me people will be more willing to respond. My current publish date goal is September, which i will meet by dropping the chapters that i could not get sufficient quotations for.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
