January 2012 P86 is hitting the studio for our 8th full length album. We have some amazing incentives for our fans to get involved now.
After 16 years, 7 full length albums, 2 EP's, and 3 DVD's P86 is about to begin a new chapter. We are headed back into the studio in January to begin recording our 8th full-length album. After being on both major and indie labels over the years we are excited to be venturing out on this project independently. With this campaign we can offer incredible incentives in exchange for your investment.
Our band has been blessed with some of the most enthusiastic and loyal fans in the world, and its because of you we have been able to have a 16-year career. It is because of you that we continue and because of you that this record will be released.
The freedom to record, market, and distribute this album (and to work directly with our fans to partner in its creation) without any outside control makes us incredibly stoked for this project. However, with this freedom comes greater responsibility. We will incur many costs on the front end to pay for studio time, engineers, producers, packaging, mixing, and mastering. That is not to mention marketing, distribution, manufacturing, and touring.
We are setting a goal for the basic funds needed to fairly pay those working on our album, for studio fees, mixing and mastering. We chose just a minimum goal because of Kickstarter's 100% funding rules. However, To promote/market the album, distribute it, and get it in the hands of the masses, we need well over and above the 15,000.00 needed to record.
As an ADDED incentive we are going to give EVERY backer an additional reward: As our record label, you guys will receive early, exclusive access to the music, the artwork, and our touring plans.
We appreciate any and all support you can offer. Thank you in advance for your help!
Other ways you can get involved:
1) Spread the word about our Kickstarter campaign to your friends and family through your social media outlets now.
2) Pray for us as we are writing songs and as we go into the studio.
3) Come to shows this spring and summer and give us your feedback.
4) Suggest that your friends "like" P86 on Facebook.
The book is a brand new, forthcoming book from Andrew Schwab that will be released in late spring 2012.
Yes, if you live in the 48 states. If you live outside the continental US, we will have to charge you a little more for shipping, on per case basis.
All incentives will ship just before the official release date of the album. As the official release date has not yet been set, we can only approximate at this time. For now, the release is tentatively scheduled for early June, but could change.
The limited edition t-shirt will be based on artwork that involves the album and which has not been completed yet. When the t-shirt is designed (sometime in late Spring) the image will be made available on all Project 86 media outlets.
We fulfilled our contract with them. With the evolution of the industry, the availability of music online, the decline of retail, and the faithfulness of our supporters, we felt the only record label we need at this point is you, the fans.
