I get a lot of my inspiration from sci-fi movies and stories that depict impossible futuristic technology. Imagining how to re-create them into real life products for everyday use is the subject of every daydream. The most interesting and useful fictional device in my eyes is what would considered a "Smart-Jacket". Since my work requires me to use both hands i found myself needing an extra hand for using my phone, checking e-mails, and connecting with my assistant. my first thought was to strap my phone to my wrist to make it more accessible but i still needed my hands to do the majority of tasks on the phone anyway so this was not sufficient for my use. I needed a full hands free jacket interface, so I got to work.
Slowly and surely I have gathered and assembled all the pieces to make my first prototype all-in-one Smart-Jacket to demonstrate just exactly what I have in-store for the future of wearable technology. currently my project is a bit more bulky than the average person would desire and is running off a Raspberry-pi computer. I not only believe I can make these jackets the next generation in wearable tech; but also make them available to the to the world at a reasonable cost.
-Complete addition/extension of the Raspberry-Pi built into a wearable jacket Including: Display, keyboard, webcam, mic, speaker, wi-fi and battery-pack. A Jacket that can perform personal computing tasks through voice commands.
Current proto-type Hardware:
-Leather Jacket with Leather Pocket inlays and vynal water-proofing
-240x320 pixel display (future versions will have larger flex-displays).
-72 key wi-fi micro keyboard (removable).
-5 Mega pixel webcam.
-4 port USB hub.
-30000 Mh USB power pack with solar powered charging system.
-Extendible USB Dongle.
-Raspberry-Pi rev 2.(B)
-Rasbian Linux OS.
-VGA + HDMI compatible.
-Full Linux Terminal access.
-Startx (Windows-like Linux Os).
-VC 3.0 (Rosie).
-Rosie (Voicecommand system based on Steven Hicksons VC 3.0 Structure).
-Ask any question.
-Search/download You-tube videos.
-Send/Receive Sms text messages.
-Play Music on drive.
-Play Music on Pandora.
-Send commands to remote devices ie. home computer .

-GPS + Maps/Tracking.
Risks and challenges
-"Pi" in "Personal-Pi" may be trademarked by Raspberry Pi.
=Contact Raspberry-Pi for permissions or licencing agreement.
-Current Operating system "Raspbian" is open source but may need to look into licence for distribution.
=If non negotiable, a customized OS will have to be compiled by 3rd party programmer(in budget).
-Product may need further weather proofing depending on final plan.
=Testing proto-type MK II with full weather before re-production.
-System heat seems nominal for now but upgrades may require cooling system.
=Possibility for heat syncs are currently achievable if necessary.
-May look into a more "user Friendly" interface depending on potential customers interest for Linux terminal or not.
-Better cell phone integration.
=Collaborate with the creator of the voice control system : Steven Hickson (http://stevenhickson.blogspot.ca/2013/04/voice-control-on-raspberry-pi.html) with a project specific version for the Personal-Pi.
