A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
Vinyl Bluetooth Speaker
With the progress of the information technology nowadays, we found Bluetooth speaker is much more easier for playing music with high fidelity. Very soon this technology became the top choice for most of speaker producers. Millions of old Vinyl disc are out of use . Knowing that Vinyl is mainly made of PVC, it will take them 600 years to be totally dissolved by the nature, but also tremendous creativity for designing the cover are wasted in the storage room.
How to reuse, recycle or even upcycle the old Vinyl became an interest for a lot of designers who care for our environment. Someone uses it for a clock, someone uses it for a tray, someone uses it for a bag, someone even uses it for a book cover.
Now we are going to introduce our Vinyl Bluetooth Speaker: another creative way on how to upcycle this used Vinyl as a acoustic panel for increasing the sound effect of a Bluetooth speaker. This is how it works:
Resonate lower frequency
As we all know, high frequency sound wave need only tiny surface to send. But lower frequency sound wave need much bigger surface to push out to the air. So the classical portable speaker, by its physical nature, is unbalanced between the high frequency and low frequency.
We use this Vinyl as a speaker’s base to release the hidden power inside of the speaker’s body. It resonate the low frequency sound wave of the music, and most of all, it’s not digitally altered, it is physical vibrations. We just give it’s a wing to let the music sound better.
Even sound field
A portable speaker has only a single source of sound volume. In order to provide the volume in about 2 meters distance. It needs very intense loudness to overcome the air resistance. So, sometime, you feel it’s too loud to listen when it’s close by, and too weak to hear when it’s a bit far.
We use the vinyl disc to hide the intense volume of the sound from direct contact with your ear. Together with the sound reflecting from its background, the sound energy evenly diffuse into your hearing vicinity. The sound field become naturally warm and even.
Reduce vibration noises
When a powerful speaker play music on a surface, normally there are many small objects on the surface will shake in their own rhythm and that makes undesired noises.
We design a special stand with only 3 minimum points to touch the ground. It stops trapping its surroundings to shake.
Perfect form matches its perfect sound
Vinyl Bluetooth Speaker is designed in a way, you can put them anywhere in your rooms and feel it’s harmonious with your settings, a bookshelf or cozy coffee corner or even your bathroom… It doesn’t look like a technical device at all. It just look like a souvenir at home. Most of your guests will ask where you hide your speaker. And then it’s your time to show off a bit with this unique creature.
Also this powerful speaker designed for people are demanding in sound quality in Jazz, Classical Music, Vocals. Sometimes you feel it’s unbelievable real, a live concert of an unplugged or a cello…Sometimes you can even see the vibrations of the vinyl in its reflection.
“As an architect, I am more concerned about building relationships with the earth. As a designer, I am more care about our own conscious of our soul. Sometimes many things are existed already for a long time. But they need us to fix their relationships with each other. Thus we can make things better.”

Instead of keeping the old Vinyl as a waste, for the first time, we upcycled the old Vinyl into a sound part, with also a decoration function. Above all Vinyl Bluetooth Speaker delays another over produced plastic from being a pollution for our beloved planet.
