Roundtable Journal Issue 02

Roundtable Journal is a bold, powerful magazine for women exploring self, art, politics, culture, sex, discrimination and more– all told through an intelligent, authentic voice. We are a publication dedicated to representation, starting (often difficult) conversations and celebrating women in all their complexity and nuance.
Featuring candid conversations with fascinating women, compelling articles sprinkled with sarcasm for good measure, and bold photography, Roundtable returns with a powerful issue here to challenge the status quo and remind you that you are everything.
With 200 pages of visuals, articles, photo series, essays and more, Roundtable Journal is a reflective, thought-provoking read.
Who are we?
We're a group of women who decided to create the sort of publication we wanted to read!

Who's featured in Issue 02?
Cover girl, acclaimed visual artist Tony Gum speaks about the difficulties of true storytelling– as she often does through her work. London singer-songwriter Poppy Ajudha discusses the inherent politics of music. Djali Brown-Cepeda, all round creative, DJ, yogi & activist, tells us about how spaces and places define our selfhood. And painter Monica Garza gives a rare interview, and lets us in on the processes behind her popular, bad-ass paintings.

What's in Issue 02?
We speak to womxn sexual educators, including breast cancer activist Ericka Hart, about combating the whitewashing of alternative sex practices
We explore the history behind hair removal and unpack the role it has (or doesn’t have?) on society
We embark on a Comprehensive Study of Black Twitter, unravelling the method to the madness behind the largest online ‘black community’
We delve into the relationship between 'Jewish features’ and western beauty standards, and ask: is there a need for a conscious, social movement to celebrate the Jewish phenotype?
We dismantle (and shit on) John Allen’s controversial statement that “white men are an endangered species in the boardroom”, because no, they’re not
Including more articles, essays and reviews...
Five original photo stories (and more!) by photographers Maria Penaloza, Danika Magdalena, Ashley Armitage, Gemma Shepherd, Elizabeth Wirija, Faith Aylward and Zoe Alakija
