What is a challenge coin?
A challenge coin is a small coin or medallion (usually military), bearing an organization’s insignia or emblem and carried by the organization’s members. Traditionally, they are given to prove membership when challenged and to enhance morale.
My name is Andrew Levi. I collect challenge coins. I decided to launch this Kickstarter Project because I designed a challenge coin and I want to get the design into production. I have to make a minimum order of 100 coins.
If I reach the funding goal, I will be able to order the minimum number of metal challenge coins. Any amount pledged after the initial goal is met will still be going towards an order.
The coin has been designed. I contacted a coin manufacturer and they provided a quote and are awaiting manufacturing. As soon as the project ends, the coins will be ordered.
The coin will have a gold color. It will be 1.75" in diameter.
Every coin will have a unique number on the edge.
Lapel Pin -- $8
I designed a lapel pin which is similar in design to the challenge coin. It will be smaller than the coin - 1". It will come in an acrylic case.
Simply add $8 to your existing pledge and the lapel pin will be shipped along with the challenge coin.
Risks and challenges
At present, the coins exist only as a design. If the project is fully funded, the company that has been chosen for production will create the coins.
For design and manufacturing I've partnered with a company that has made challenge coins for the US Armed Forces, assorted diplomatic corps, municipal police forces, and a host of other organizations. I'm confident in their ability to manufacture these in a timely manner, and to the posted specifications.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
