Help us expand our product line to include 2XL/3XL t-shirts. Our current designs will be printed in expanded sizes, & so will new ones. Read more

About this project
Sharing Machine has been selling t-shirts for almost a decade. We're a small company and have wanted to print 2XL and 3XL shirts for years, but never had the funds to extend our product line. We have 30 shirt designs in print right now, and printing the absolute bare minimum of 2XL and 3XL shirts for every one of those will cost us $14,800.
We think that big & tall people deserve to wear our designs as much as anyone else, and hate that we've been unable to afford printing on extended sizes for so long, so we're offering our customers a chance to make it happen.
By contributing to this project, you may pick a shirt or shirts in a regular size (S-M-L-XL) or a men's 2XL/3XL as your reward. And if this project is funded, we'll have these extended sizes printed immediately at our factory, and ship out by the end of June 2012 at our warehouse.
We already have our printer on board to make these shirts, and our warehouse is ready to receive the new shirts and distribute them to backers of the project. All we need is your help to be able to afford the initial cost of printing these shirts!
Most of our rewards are a prepayment for one or more shirts in the sizes of your choice. But if you want to help us in a huge way, we've created an option for you to pick your favorite comic and have us print it on a shirt on any color you like. You can have the "Butt butt butt butt butt" comic printed on a neon pink shirt if that's what you want. We get requests for custom shirts all the time, and since each new design costs us over $2000 up front to print, we can't fulfill them, but this is your chance to finally have your t-shirt-based dream come true. This option is $1400 which is less than our actual cost, but subsidizes enough of it that we can afford to print you something weird even if it doesn't sell well on our site.
Once the shirts are available for sale at Sharing Machine, the 2XL/3XL sizes will be $21/ea plus $5.95 shipping (USA) or $9.95 shipping (int'l) so if you buy one now at $25, you're saving a little bit of money, and helping us expand our product line at the same time.
Any donations you make towards this project will be going towards getting larger shirts printed and stocked in our store. It is NOT a donation towards the general operation of our sites or the production of comics.
If we manage to exceed the amount it takes to print and sell 2XL and 3XL shirts, we might be able to print some new designs or print on extra sizes, to be determined when we get there. If you back the project, your feedback may be solicited to determine how to expand the goals of the project once we reach our initial funding goal.
If this project isn't funded, we will continue to print shirts and sell them in regular sizes for low prices, but it would be awesome if we could do this.
After you pledge, send us a message within Kickstarter indicating your style + size preference(s). If you don't message us when you pledge, we'll write you and ask what you want. Either is OK.
Our traditional women's shirts are a fitted cut with smaller sleeves and stretchy fabric. Manufacturers assume (whether right or wrong) that nobody above a women's size 16 wants a stretchy, clingy, tight-fitting shirt. So we're only able to offer men's XXL/3XL sizes.
An XXL fits chest size 50-52" and is 32" long. A 3XL fits a chest size of 54-56" and is 33" long.
Short answer: No.
Long answer: We don't have $14,800 to invest in printing larger shirts. If we can't get our readers to preorder these larger t-shirts, we can not make them. Even if we had the money to invest, if there's insufficient interest in this project, we would be stuck with a bunch of unsold stock if we printed them anyway.
You can pick any size/style combination. Feel free to back this project even if you only want a men's/women's S/M/L/XL-sized shirt.
