If you missed the end of this project, The posters will be available to buy from my webstore (Squarehex.co.uk) as soon as I have posted all the backer rewards. Please visit the following page on my blog for details:
The purpose of this project is to fund a print run of two posters. Each features the entire text of a classic H.P.Lovecraft story.
The first poster is A2-sized (420x594mm/16.5x23.4inches) and contains the entire text of The Call of Cthulhu.
The second poster is A1-sized (594x841mm/23.4x33.1inches) and contains the entire text of At the Mountains of Madness.
Both posters will be professionally printed on 135gsm Gloss Art Paper (now upgraded to 160gsm Silk Art Paper with a Matt UV coating). I have already had a short test print-run of both posters to ensure that they print correctly, and I am happy to report that they both look superb. I've added black border to the images here to show the edge of the posters against the white background, but the printed posters do not have a printed border.
The 4-5 point text on the posters is super sharp, and readable even without any magnification. Here's a close-up of a small portion of the Call of Cthulhu poster, although it is very difficult to capture just how great it looks in reality.
There is just one Stretch Goal for the campaign. If funding reaches £600 then I will upgrade the paper to heavier 160gsm stock.
Postage for the campaign is charged at a flat rate no matter how many posters you pledge for, and is based on the country you are in:
- UK postage +£3
- EU postage +£6
- Rest of World postage +£8
Postage example: If you live in the United States and want 2 Cthulhu posters and 1 Mountains poster you would select the £10 reward, then add £3 for the extra Cthulhu poster and £8 for postage, making the total pledge required £21.
The posters will be sent rolled in a card mailing tube. If someone pledges for a very large quantity of posters then I will send them in more than one tube or flat packed, depending on the quantity and location.
If you are at the UK Games Expo in Birmingham (29th-31st May), then you can take a look at them on the Squarehex stand. I'll also be selling my very limited test print-run stock of the posters at the show.
Risks and challenges
This is my 13th Kickstarter project. All my past projects were delivered on or ahead of schedule. My golden rule when running a Kickstarter Campaign is to only launch a new project after the rewards from the previous campaign have been dispatched.
For this project, I have already ordered a sample print-run of the posters so the photos shown here are of the finished items. My plan is to place the print order the day after the campaign ends, and to be mailing the posters out from the day the funds hit my account.
If the project is very successful (over 200 backers), I will clear time in my schedule, to ensure everything is mailed as quickly as possible. If the project is phenomenally successful (over 1000 backers) then I will put additional resources in place as required.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
