The purpose of this project is to fund print runs of A4 and A5 sized, pads of grid paper. The sheets will be litho printed with light gray (cool gray 5) 7mm grid. Each pad will have 25 sheets and will come glued along one edge and attached to a backing card.
If funding reaches £750 the pads will be upgraded with heavier 100gsm paper, and double-sided printing. The reverse sides of the sheets will be printed with a smaller 3.5mm grid (which mean 4x the number of squares compared to a 7mm grid). This will make the sheets even more versatile allowing you to create large dungeons on a single 3.5mm grid sheet, and then create detailed sectional maps at a bigger scale.
If funding reaches £1200 I will order a print run of A6 pads (same spec 100gsm, 25 sheets, doubled-sided 7mm/3.5mm grid) and make them available as a subsidized, low-cost add-on.
If you'd like to try out some of my pads before you back the project I have put together a special sampler pack. You can order it direct from my blog here. Or on the the Squarehex website here. If you are ordering from the UK then ordering via the blog will be cheaper.
Other sizes of Square and Hex pads are already available from my webstore: www.squarehex.co.uk Throughout the length of this campaign the code kick7 will give a 10% discount on all orders.
*The A6 pad will be added to the range if the £1200 stretch goal is reached.
Risks and challenges
This is my seventh Kickstarter in just over a year. All my past projects were delivered on or ahead of schedule. My golden rule when running a Kickstarter Campaign is to only launch a new project after all the rewards from the previous campaign have been dispatched.
For this project, I will be using the same printer as I did for my previous ones. My plan is to place the print order for the pads the same day the funds hit my account, and to be mailing the printed pads out to backers 3 weeks later. If the project is very successful (over 200 backers), I will clear several full days in my schedule, to ensure everything is mailed on time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
