- One Shots
- When a Player Ruins Your Game
- World Building Basics
This year I am really going to focus on growing my channel by listening to you more than ever. While I have every intent to improve everything across the board, you will see a greater focus on Role-Playing, Wargaming, and convention coverage.
I will do this by bringing you shorter and more precise Flip Throughs and the return of Role-Play Ramblings. If you are a role-player and a wargamer, you can look forward to more hobby related content like painting and terrain building. As a wargamer you can count on me talking not only about games and rules but also about some of the crazy things that go on at tournaments - for example, how to spot someone who is fudging dice. I will also bring you my top 10 lists once unlocked. I have been thinking about this for a couple of years now, and I've been convinced by some friends it's time to do that.
At conventions, I will continue to bring you up to speed on the current happenings and releases. Once funded I will be able to take steps to improve the quality of convention content. Imagine what a new camera can do for the video production. Better yet, what would the right microphones do for improving a video like this one with Bryan Steele from CMoN at Gen Con 50.
The right microphone will eliminate almost all of the background noise. I will be able to purchase it if the top 10 miniature wargame stretch goal is funded.
I'm Matt Lemke fromThrough Gamer Goggles and this is my fifth Kickstarter. I might be a veteran, but this is my first attempt to truly fund a whole season. It will be a fun journey and it is a relatively low funding goal - and I have been told I sell myself for far too little. That may be true, but for me there is a desire to share everything I learn about the industry. You can read a full bio here but the video below pretty much sums it up!
$2,300 - Columbus Living Travel Guide $0.99 Add On
I have been visiting Columbus Ohio since Origins 1998. I will share with you my favorite spots around the town.
$2,500 - Top 10 Pathfinder Books
I will list my favorite Pathfinder books. It will be interesting to see which campaign setting books beat out the hard covers, if any.
$2,700 - Two Restaurant Reviews in Columbus
I will be eating anyway, but why not help me pick a restaurant to review? That's right, you tell me where to eat two of my sit down meals and find out what it was like.
$3,000 - Top 10 Miniature Wargames
I will make my top 10 list of miniature wargames. Don't be surprised if you don't see any folding boards on this list. You might see some dungeon delvers though.
$3,500 - Gen Con Coverage
I will perform 30 interviews and/or game demos at Gen Con 2018.
$3,800 - Indianapolis Living Travel Guide $0.99 Add On
I have been visiting Indianapolis since around 2003 as an attendee, judge, or blogger. This add on will allow me to share with you some of my favorite hot spots.
$4,000 - Top 10 Home Brew RPG Rules
I will scour the universe to find the best home brew role-playing rules out there!
$4,500 - Role-Play Ramblings Extra Episodes +6
I will reveal an extra 6 episodes of Role-Play Ramblings.
$5,000 - YouTube Live (or similar) Monthly
I will commit to one live show per month. We can discuss the topic or theme as a community. For example, will it be a Kickstarter show, a news show, or some weird combination of everything?
$7,500 - Camera Upgrade
This camera will go a long way in making my production much more enjoyable.
$10,000 - Role-Play Ramblings Live Stream
At this level, I will live stream Role-Play Ramblings. You might think this isn't that big of a deal, but you don't realize how much of a commitment a live stream is. It means you can no longer conveniently film the video whenever you want and edit it before making it public. It's also a time commitment since you have to be in a certain place at a certain time.
Thank you Pledge

Product Overview and Game Preview Levels
Holy crap Matt $400.00 for six minutes that's like $4,000.00 and hour are you crazy?
No I'm not. There is a lot more value to a six minute video than you realize. That cost includes all studying of your game, scripting, equipment rental if needed, filming and editing time. Depending on the complexity of the game that can easily reach forty hours and often more.
Game Overview includes the previewing of your product. I will open the box and preview the pieces of your game and the basic premise (#players, theme, mechanics, genre, etc.) of the game.
The Game Preview Level includes the Game Overview plus it covers the mechanics, and game play. This is not a play through of the game. Now in some instances a game that is very quick to learn and fast to play, might included a full game.
For product previews and overviews there is a lead time of 6 weeks. Please, don't send me a game and say we launch or need the video in seven days, because it won't happen. I will say that again, if you want a quality video then I need at least 6 weeks to work on it. This allows us to produce the best content we can together.
What's even better in the end these videos are yours. If you would like I can and will share to my social media and post it to through Gamer-Goggles. If published to my YouTube channel I reserve the right to use my introduction and closing credits.
Risks and challenges
There are not a lot of risks associated with this kickstarter. The biggest risk is working with manufacturers to get you the promos, but I have most of those already. That's only one point of failure. What about the content? What could prevent the fulfillment of that? There are really only a couple of things. My work schedule could change, which wouldn't prevent me from producing content, but it could certainly mess with the schedule and delay me for a little bit. Or some unfortunate event could occur, such as being bitten by a radioactive spider - and then I would have to hang up my camera and dedicate my life to crime fighting.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
