About this project
In Succession!, you are a proud member of a noble house vying for courtly influence to win the crown of Dayrm. To sway the royal court, you must ensure that the Vassals you send to the castle arrive safely while stopping your opponent’s Vassals from doing the same.
Players only have access the same nine Vassals, each of which hails from one of the three regions (Mountains, Forest, and City). During a turn, players send two Vassals in an attempt to reach the throne room. Each of these Vassals must come from a different region and can only interact with other vassals from their region.
Envoys (crowns) hold the real sway over the court and are worth valuable influence should they make it to the throne room. To stop an opponent's Envoys, you have secretly hired dastardly Enemies (crossed swords) to prevent them from succeeding. But be careful, word has it that the other Nobles have hired their own unsavory agents, so you will need to summon Escorts (shields) to try and keep the roads clear of threats to your Envoys.
As the turns progress, players must remember what Vassals have already been sent to court and predict which ones will be sent out next. It will take savvy planning, keen deduction, and a good memory to win the day. Once all the Vassals are sent, captured, or collected, the noble with the most influence is the new ruler of the Kingdom of Dayrm!
Every card in Succession! is vibrant & colorful with amazing illustrations drawn specifically for the game by the fantastic artist Brian Patterson of D20Monkey.com.

Risks and challenges
Where are the stretch goals?
We deliberated on the topic of stretch goals for many weeks in the run up to Kickstarter. We've seen them be a lot of fun and we've seen them completely ruin production schedules and entire Kickstarter campaigns. For Succession!, we decided to forgo stretch goals and make the game, and it's components, of the highest quality from the start. The cards will be made with a 320 gsm black core stock and with a wonderful linen finish. These are cards we are proud to produce and play with; we know you will love them.
This is my third project and we have delivered on time to each of our backers who submitted their information on time. We do not expect any delay in getting this to the printer or too much additional time to be added for upgrading components as per our manufacturer. All the art is done, the files are ready to go to the printer when we are funded.
In light of this, the primary risk we would like to emphasize is the possibility of delays to our manufacturing and shipping schedules. We have taken careful steps to minimize this risk, including overestimating all of our timings and solidifying professional relationships far in advance of this campaign, but there is always the possibility of the unexpected.
The one promise we make regarding all of this is that we will be in constant contact with our backers and easy to reach should any questions arise. Each and every backer will be taking this journey with us, and the last thing we would do is leave anyone in the dark.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read through our entire page; we truly hope you will consider joining us.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
