SKY is ARROWS is a fantasy real-time strategy game with a focus on bloody medieval warfare and mythic creatures. There are 3 playable factions: Regiment, Wyrm, and Curator. There are approximately 30 fully animated units in the world. This game is a sequel to Medieval Solutions using updated designs, animations, and sounds from it.
This game is being made by a small team of 4 people. With funding I will contract more, and get more out of the people I already do have.

- Runes force you to choose between unlocking different units; so you can never use an entire factions army. (You set up your runes before a match so you can botch it if you don't plan well, but it lets you customize your army to your play-style.)
- Runes are also used to customize each warrior unit between 3 different upgrades that change their stats and abilities.
- It's using 2D art in a 3D world, each units animations are hand drawn and look very fluid. (Quite different from the sometimes blocky 3D models that may not have the most expressive animations, this is especially noticeable in a RTS where the units are so small on screen.)
- There are units you've never seen before! And old classics with a new take.
Why this Game?
Real-time strategy games are by far my favorite genre. They challenge you to think strategically throughout the whole game, instead of relying on the "twitch" many other games do.
I've even worked on several real-time strategy games in the past. But, SKY is ARROWS is the first one to be in a 3D environment and programmed on C#. Combining my new skills with Unity that I used to create educational games, with my passion for creating real-time strategy games. This game is beckoning me to make it.
The biggest problem with the prequel Medieval Solutions was that it is on Flash ActionScript 3, which is ill-equipped to handle a real-time strategy of this scale. Unity and C# are capable of so much more.
SKY is ARROW's art style is unique, using 2D animations for units placed in a 3D world. This allows the units to be very expressive and relatively fast to create, while also ensuring the project can be completed without a huge staff.
About the Project
Over a 10-12 month period a small team lead by Yale Winter will develop SKY is ARROWS a fantasy RTS game. Where it goes from there will happen in real-time for all backers to see.
We will release bi-weekly videos exclusively for backers! This series is to strive to make backers as much a part of the process as possible and will show the game from start to finish. See glorious successes and failures along the way. This project will strive to be completely transparent for you.
A small community, the backer's forum will be established. Comment and make suggestions for the game and/or development process. We may reach out to the community for suggestions when blocked on a certain issue.
You also get to play and test the game's balance and fun factor during the beta before the game is even released!
Kickstarter is the world's largest funding platform for creative projects. And I can't think of a better way to go about it! It's ideal; with crowd funding I can give rewards to backers, and not have a big corporate entity breathing down my neck, and taking control of my game! I am grateful to live in the age where concepts like Kickstarter and Steam exist, without them being a indie game developer would be much, much harder.
