On October 23, 2015, from 7-11pm, Intown Church and Antler Gallery will present the tenth annual Works, an event that celebrates the diverse art and culture we enjoy here in Portland, OR. This "art happening" has become one of the most anticipated nights of the year and will feature some of Portland's most stunning contemporary artists; painters, sculptors, photographers, multi-media artists, craftspeople and more, all showing their work within The Old Church, one of Portland's oldest and most beautiful buildings. Check out the video above of last year's event to get a taste of what Works is all about! (video shot by Danielle Kirby, music by Sean Flinn and the Royal We and 1939 Ensemble)
This year's Works is proud to have an amazing and diverse line-up of musical guests for this year's event:
Haley Heynderickx - Singer-songwriter with a gorgeous voice and hauntingly beautiful songs.
Sama Dams - Catchy, cool and moody rock set against an experimental backdrop from this eclectic trio.
Eyelids - An all-star line-up of musicians (former and current members of The Decemberists, Guided By Voices) crafting sunny, Southern California psychedelia.
In addition to the musical acts, local artist Reeva Wortel will present part of her narrative portrait-based project that combines interviews, social commentary, performance, and a large-scale installation.
Attendees will also enjoy great beer provided by Breakside Brewery paired with locally sourced food prepared by fantastic local chef, Berkely Braden. Plus, cold brew coffee from Stumptown!
We believe that celebrating the arts in our community is vital to keeping them strong, that's why we could think of no better way to do just that than to throw a huge party, and showcase as much amazing local talent as possible in one night!
An event like this takes funding, and we are almost there – the “almost” is where you come in...your small (or large!) financial investment will help this year’s event be better than ever! Every contributor will receive proof of our appreciation!
