About this project
Award winning artists Lyn Nance-Sasser and Stephen Sasser, in an homage to Portland, created a suite of prints featuring iconic attributes of the city. The unusual images are superimposed on a 1956 vintage tourist street-map, accompanied by a graphic "YOU ARE HERE" icon pinpointing the precise location of the chosen feature.
Each 10" x 8" piece is printed using archival-quality pigment ink on white, 315 gsm, 100% cotton rag, pH neutral, acid free art paper. They are
ready-for-framing and sized to fit a standard, pre-assembled, 19" x 15" frame.
The goal of this Kickstarter campaign is to expand our horizons by including icons from locations in other cities across the country. We've already started with images from Seattle, San Francisco and New York City. To accomplish our goal, we'll need to update our equipment and make some studio improvements. Here’s your chance to help create original new prints. We would love to get input from Kickstarter contributors suggesting new icons in new locations across the continent.
Risks and challenges
We've been doing this for several years, so we don't anticipate any roadblocks. If you do decide to choose a location, we'll need a good quality photograph of your favorite icon from you.
Unsolicited testimonials department:
"I love any piece of artwork that you do. I love your style: it’s got elements of both modern and retro design, and it’s always fresh and different looking, and the designs always have a lot of complexity that is very compelling."
"It was also a pleasure for us to meet the artists behind that lovely artwork.
We will give it a nice place in our house and it will remind us of the good time we had in Portland.
Indeed, we enjoyed being here. The city has a very pleasant and European feel, people are kind and relaxed, there are good beers, good food,... The good life! Your work shows a view on Portland and at the same time you seem to be people with a sense of humor."
