Our new film's Kickstarter campaign UPDATE: we can almost see the finish line, and a new reward!
Today we've reached the halfway point in the Kickstarter campaign for our new film The Devil Needs a Fix which reunites many of the From the Sky team including producer Jess Grant, actor Steven Soro, editor Eric Frith, Assistant Director Ian Van der Werff and myself as writer/director.
Some great news: we are 71% funded and have raised over $9,200 of our $13,000 goal! Thank you so much to those of you who have already stepped out to support us for a second time following From the Sky. We believe we've got a really compelling, thought-provoking story on our hands and can't get it finished without your help.
Some challenges: this phase in many kickstarter campaigns tends to be a lull which we're also experiencing, and we've got the added challenge of the 4th of July weekend coming up. We greatly appreciate those who can move us towards our goal with a donation this week so that we don't arrive at the final stretch of this campaign with a daunting gap. Now more than ever, we're looking for a community of donors to give what they can; less about dollar amount per person and more about a bunch of people jumping in to contribute that will get us to the finish line.
We've just added a new reward as an incentive. Meet our devil, played by actor Steven Soro. Those who donate at (or upgrade a current donation to) our new reward 'The Devil's Hot Purr' will get a seductive voicemail sent to you or someone of your choosing from the man himself. As gag gifts go, we think this is a good one.
Other awards include an invitation to a menu tasting event this fall with members of the creative team at Eden Hill restaurant in Seattle, WA where 'Devil' was primarily filmed, prepared by Seattle's only 2016 James Beard Award 'Rising Star of the Year' Semifinalist and Eden Hill executive chef/owner Maximillian Petty. The James Beard Award is like the Oscars for food, and we were lucky to partner with Maximillian and his amazing and ironically titled Eden Hill restaurant for the film shoot, so we hope you'll join us for this!

Thank you! We hope to be back soon with more good news!
