About this project
Slime of Fury is a retro zeldroidvania sidescroller game with an emphasis on exploration, tight platforming and busting out sick combos! Available on PC, Mac and Linux.
The Story
The story begins in the distant land of Ostrios. The Sun Shines, Birds chirp, Monsters and Humans live together in harmony. Slimy the squidgy slime monster is eager to get home and play his brand new video game, The Legend of Grundledorf II: Bob's Asleepening. But just as Slimy is about to insert the cartridge, the entire world is plunged into darkness! A distant castle rises into the sky and looms ominously over the land. Many monsters of Ostrios see this as an omen to revert to their aggressive and evil ways, but not Slimy. Sensing a true adventure, Slimy sets off, determined to restore order to world and end the eternal night.

Exploration
Travel the wild and varied lands of Ostrios! Delve into forgotten ruins, sky fortresses, and many other diverse locales. Discover all the the secrets! Find hidden, items, merchants and areas! Explore the areas of the world in any nonlinear, nonsensical way you like. The world is your CollosaClam!
Combat
Slimy fights various enemies on his journey through Ostrios. The Dreaded Lerpys, Hungry Knammers and the Tree Dwelling Eggelfs will all try to take Slimy down. Slimy starts off with the basic Badger Punch attack but over time acquires items that boost his current attacks and give him access to more moves. The higher the combo you obtain, the more money enemies will drop when they die.
Items
Slimy collects and uses various items throughout his epic journey. They allow Slimy to use various abilities such as Flying Walrus Kick and Flaming Meteor Dash! Items also provide various buffs and upgrades such as increased, health, damage and critical chance!
The Hero
Slimy is the star of SOF. He loves video games, cartoons and snacks but when his whole world is threatened, he throws down his controller and sets off on a quest to save the world! Slimy learns the ways of the Karate Wizards who were said to have cracked skulls with their magic instead of their fists! Slimy learns how punch, kick and dash(magically) by finding ancient Karate Wizard artifacts. His favorite food is waffles and his favorite video game is The Legend of Grundledorf IV: Macaroni of Time.

Submit a picture of yourself or an original character and I will recreate it in the game. Slimy will be able to talk to your in-game doppelganger so you also get to choose what your NPC will say. Your character will say a Maximum of 174 characters at 29 Characters per line with 2 Lines being shown at a time. Profanity will not be allowed.

What is a Jon Harwood anyway?

Hey I'm Jon! I am the designer, programmer, artist and overall creator of Slime of Fury. You could say I have some experience with making games. I recently acquired my associates degree in game programming at Milwaukee Area Technical College. I own a company called Jon Harwood Games LLC which makes video games if you can believe that. As much as I love making games with no budget whatsoever, Having some money to buy development tools, convention tickets and marketing resources is really the ideal way to make a game. Kickstarter is an amazing platform that not only gathers funding for projects but also allows for deep community engagement and for the community to have a flavorful impact on the game's development. So if you feel the want to support me in my righteous quest to make Slime of Fury an awesome experience and get beastly awesome rewards, then pledging your pennies to this campaign is the way to do it. :3
Risks and challenges
Developing a video game can often be a monumental task with many variables to consider. For a solo man developer it can be even more difficult but I am 100 percent confident that I can overcome any foe, pitfall or cataclysmic event that gets in the way of me making this game. While this is my first Kickstarter, I have shipped several other titles by myself before. If anything horrible should occur you may see delays in either the release of the game or in delivery of the kick starter rewards. I do not anticipate delays for either but miscalculations and acts of god do sometimes happen. I look forward to delivering an excellent product and I hope you look forward to receiving it.
